Customer Reviews of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2006
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2006 Fails I ordered ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2006 after a PC magazine review, I have a 3 month old HP Media Center PC. Th software totaly locked up my machine on install twice. Each ocasion requireing me to reboot in safe mode and to use the restore function to even use my computer. I lost 6 - 8 hours of work befoe I decided to return it. I did receive my refund 8 to 10 weeks after returning the product. I am now using Norton Internet Security with no problems. I transfered it from an older abandoned PC. <

Destroys AOL
Don't buy Zone Alarm if you use AOL; they are not compatable. The pop-ups will drive you crazy and AOL won't work properly. Also plan on your computer running much slower when this software is installed. I bought it from Amazon and had to throw it away in a month... no refund; money lost. Norton is far better with AOL.
No problems here
After using Bitdefender on trial .I discovered that Bitdefender was so imcompatible with "First Defense-ISR "a hard drive imaging software that has saved me from a lot of trouble over the years ,and that it disabled that software. Then trying Mcafee and Norton ,I became fed up with updating virus patterns that wouldn't update from Mcafee and installation problems with Norton which would'nt install.Having used Zone Alarm Pro for a number of years with excellent results .But reading some very scary reviews from readers about installation problems and resource hogging .I gritted my teeth and prayed a little then downloaded a trial version of Zone Alarm Security Suite ,expecting the worst .But lo and behold it installed flawlessly(this was a clean install)I updated the latest virus and spyware patterns without a hitch.Breathing a sigh of relief I proceeded to configure the software also doing a virus and spyware scan ,also without a hitch. After 2 days it became apparent that I was in possession of an excellent security suite and that I was in the clear as far as problems that some reviewers had experienced,I have to confess ,I breathed a sigh of relief and purchased the software as an upgrade to my Zone Alarm Pro.Also I was relieved that the tremendous slow down of my computer that I had experienced with Bitdefender,Mcafee and Norton had disappeared with Zone Alarm .In fact my computer has picked up quite a bit of speed. The one thing I'm not impressed with is the antispyware portion of this suite .After running a spyware scan on Zone Alarm ,then running another scan on Counterspy.I ran a deep scan on Ad-Aware SE and removed 13 more pieces of spyware 4 of them were critical .It doesn't hurt to run several antispyware scans with different software to try to get them all, however I always do the last scan on Ad-Aware and get all the other spyware that other software products has missed. I'm glad I bought Zone Alarm Suite though,it's everything I expected and hoped for in a security suite, and yes the pop up reminders will drive you crazy ,but after 3 years ,I'm used to it .
