Mother to be!! This lamp is soooo cute! THe base is a good weight. Not to heavy but not so light that it feels cheap. The shade is also a nice quality. This lamp will accept a maximum of 60 watts for a light bulb. But if you buy the better quality light bulb depending on how much light you want in your nursery you can get brighter results. The only problem I have which really isn't a problem is that the cord, yes it is white, contains the switch. I'm used to turning on the light from the lamp itself but you have to leave part of the cord out so you can reach the switch to turn it on or off. All in all it takes up no space at all. My husband actually loves it and it's a great neutral item! It doesn't scream boy or girl at all! Burlington Coat Factory has this lamp for the same price so you can go pick it up from the store like I did!
