Customer Reviews of Yours Today Mine Tomorrow
Some nice variation This South Florida quartet have uncompromisingly managed to mix together a Post Hardcore sound with pop/punk rhythms and strangely enough, the outcome was bordering on the innovative. With the rise of this genre, bands are popping up like pimples on a fourteen-year-old boy with little depth that just begs to be plucked. In THE BIG SCREEN'S case, they brought out an honesty and authenticity that rivals their counterparts in this flooded genre. Their moving, sultry hooks abhor a real sense of contradiction in that they feel fluid yet they are proudly displayed through a distortion-like tone. This quality, although endearing, pushes their rougher edge to the forefront of their music with a punchy, mildly scathing eminence that provokes the listener to experience a form of frustrated happiness. The song structures are creative enough but not to the point of being confusing either. Add some upper-octave vocals into the mix and you might be able to hear a crunchier version of NEW FOUND GLORY but thankfully, without the cheesy, dreadfully unoriginal guitar scales. They have slipped in and out of Post Hardcore roves and stamped it with subtle pop/punk undertones. Truth be told, it was an impressive balance of two styles and songs like "7/23" and "Pictures of Hope" were prime examples of their talented methods of musical invention. Certainly worth your time if you are digging the vibe of the recent Post Hardcore discharge. <
