ThreeWay questions require you to buzz in when the correct answer is highlighted among three onscreen choices, while DisOrDat asks you to correctly group words into two or more categories while the clock ticks away. The game gets particularly heated during Jack Attack mode, which challenges gamers to buzz in when they see a word or phrase that matches a specific clue.
Reading fast and buzzing in quickly are beneficial skills. Although the designers didn't add much in the way of graphics or extras for this version, there are two discs full of questions to avoid repetition. Some phrasings and topics aren't suitable for the pre-teen and younger players because they consist of bodily functions, profanity, or sex. Up to three contestants can play, but you'll need a Multi Tap (sold separately). --Carrie Bell

Customer Reviews of You Don't Know Jack
HELP ME! I'M HAVIN' A JACK ATTACK! I love YDKJ because it is a hilarious game. I don't care about winning because the game is very fun even if you don't win. The questions are pretty tough, but I know a few of 'em. When me and my cousin play, we just go crazy and see who can buzz in first, then we guess the answer. I love it when the host tells the name of the category. It's hilarious the way he says most of 'em, especially "Dude!". I die when he says that. When you miss a question and he insults you, that's very funny too. I especially like it when he swears... Uh! Oh! I'd better go! I feel another jack attack coming on..... AAAHHHHHHHH!!!
Trivia with a punch (and bite)!
My wife HATES video games but not this one. We both love trivia and game shows and "Jack" has the best of both. The questions are not ready for prime time (Yes, that's my final answer), still we were laughing from question 1 to 21. Nothing to play with younger children, but for adults it's the twister of 2000. You will get hooked on this game, thank God it comes with 2 CD's so you will have plently of questions to 'dis n dat' about.
An excellent PC game arrives on the Playstation
In the mid-late nineties, a little-known PC trivia game was gaining popularity. The name of this game was You Don't Know Jack. And, with all the rising popularity, it seemed only natural to port the game to video game consoles. At long last, the classic has arrived on the Playstation! How does it measure up? Read on and find out.
PROS:
-THE GAME IS FINALLY ON A HOME VIDEO GAME CONSOLE! Let's face the facts, we'd all rather play a multiplayer quiz game at a TV rather than crowding around a computer desk!
-THIS GAME WILL APPEAL TO A MUCH LARGER CROWD THAN MOST QUIZ GAMES. To quote another reviewer, this game is sort of like "Jeopardy! for smartasses." If you give this game a chance, you'll grow to love it.
-BECAUSE THE PLAYSTATION ONE HAS BECOME DATED, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND THIS GAME FOR A LOW PRICE. In other words, this version of the game is a great value.
-YOU GET TWO DISCS WORTH OF QUESTIONS! That means this version of the game is bound to hold your attention longer than the PC version.
CONS:
-YOU NEED A MULTITAP TO DO THREE PLAYERS!? WTF!? Why couldn't the game just let all of the players share one controller? That would have worked just fine, but no. Sony wants to get all the money out of people that they can.
-IT'S NOT ON A KEYBOARD, SO THERE ARE NO GIBBERISH QUESTIONS. This is a real shame, because they were one of the best parts of the PC game!
OVERALL:
Overall this is a good game, and I'm glad to see that they finally ported it to a home video game console. Don't pass this up because it's a trivia game - it's one of the few really good ones out there.
