Customer Reviews of Xin jing wu men 1991
Stephen Chow stars in this very loose remake of Bruce Lee's 'Fist of Fury' Chow stars as a young man just trying to find a job. He has a super powerful right hand and looks to enter into a martial arts contest to get the prize money. When he finds out that he needs a recommendation from a kung fu school to participate, he goes to a crummy school that is obviously just a disguise for a gang operation. He gets injured in a gang battle and finds himself being taken care of by the famous Fok school. Master Fok learns of his powerful right hand and lets him stay at the school. After being betrayed, Chow has to move on and finds the man he came to Hong Kong to meet in the first place. He then is taken on by 4 old kung fu masters who teach him how to kill, not to fight. They train him in every area possible and even attack while Chow is going to the bathroom. He finally does get to the martial arts competition and takes his revenge on the person who betrayed him. <

>The comedy is good, but not good enough. The story is passable, and when the competition starts, the movie finally kicks into gear. Chow gets beaten for most of the final fight, but finally pulls it together and puts his right hand to good use. <

>All of the action is played for laughs and all of it is very well choreographed. There are only 4 or 5 fighs, but all are good. Corey Yuen plays Master Fok and his match with Stephen Chow is the one really good fight, but I liked the finale more because of how crazy it is. <
