Customer Reviews of Worship Alive, Vol. 3: In God We Trust
If you're tired.... ...of the Delirious/Sonic Flood style worship music that has flooded the air wave in the last several years, get this CD. It is a worshipful and wonderful collection of some of the best songs from Calvary Chapel Music in the 1990's. Richie Furay, who started Buffalo Springfield and Poco, is a featured worship leader, as are several other very capable singers/leaders. The music is a classic mix of pop/folk/country that is sorely missing from today's worship music that seems to be stuck on infusing boring song writing with silly pop/rock instrumentations and arrangements. The rootsy blend acheived here is still very viable to many people, and shouldn't be forgotten. Look for all the CCM releases from the '90s, and you or your church will greatly benefit from the anointed songwriting and performances throughout. Plus, if you were involved in the "Jesus movement" of the late '60s, early '70s, the involvement of Tom Stipe and Billy Batstone will make this a must for you to own.
A Great Testimony to Calvary Chapel Music
I read the previous reviews and thought, "Did these guys even understand what the video was about?" This video is a great testimony to Calvary Chapel Music. For one night at the Crossroads in Denver, Colorado, Top worship leaders from around the world came together to sing thier favorite worship songs. This includes Billy Batsone, Richie Furay, Ed Edwards and Brenda Harp among others. For anyone who had ever bought any of the Calvary Chapel Music CDs, this video is a great addition. I wish they would have played more songs on the video, but thats OK.
A violation of movie name rights !
This movie has used the name of a comedy film of the eighties, starring Marty Feldman, Louise Lasser, Richard prior, Andy Kaufman and other comics of that era. This mis-naming of a great comedic film is an injustice and should be sued by the original producers.
