Customer Reviews of World of Warcraft Collector's Edition
Good game. You need lots of spare time. Horrible support. This is undeniably a very fun (addictive) MMORPG and I got dragged in during my trial month. However, I've found over time that I just haven't been able to keep up the pace with others. I bought the game about a month after its release and at the time there was much more excitement to be found. There were characters of varying levels and new people were joining every day. However, after a problem that game support refused to remedy, which costed me a LOT of gold, I decided to call it quits for a while, because I really didn't have a lot of time to play it anyways. 4 months later I've decided to reinstate my account, and I've found to my dismay that about 80% of the people are level 60. It just gives the game a "been there, done that" image that makes me feel disinterested and I really don't have the time to grind up towards everyone else. <

>So in short: <
>It can be very fun, but you need a lot of time and determination to stay in the game, and their support is by far the worst that I've ever encountered. No matter what question you ask them, you can be sure they'll dodge it with an irrelevant, prefabricated response if its even remotely complex.
Great up until the last level; completely different after
This game is pushed as one that is open to all types of players. From 1-60 this is true. Fun game, interesting stories and quests, and crafting is different in that you can use the items you make right from the beginning.

>Once you near the last level you start to see the real target audience for the game. Eventually they will add Battlegrounds where you can fight other players, but unless you have the good gear and a lot of time to play, you will be fodder for those who spend an enormous amount of time playing.

<
>Really, this is not that big a deal. The problem I had with the game is that much of the end game content requires an enormous contribution of uninterrupted time. The dungeons and raids there can take many, many hours, and even then you aren't guaranteed the item you were looking for since you have to roll dice against other players for the item (that is if it even drops!).

>So, at the end if you want some of the good gear in the game, expect to spend countless hours running the same instances over and over and over and over again (I am not exaggerating).

>There is a great dungeon called Scarlet Monstary after which they should have modeled most of their dungeons. In the Monstary there are multiple sections to the overall dungeon, so you can complete one section then go to another, and that one section doesn't take more than an hour or so. The end game dungeons, however, can take an extremely long time to complete.

>Now, let's look at crafting. I played Dark Age of Camelot for many years before Trials of Atlantis came out. With crafting you could always make an item that was nearly as good as the stuff you could find in dungeons. I'm talking pre-ToA here. So, you had options. You could spend the money to make a spellcrafted item, or you could raid a dungeon...your choice. Blizzard forces you to raid dungeons to get really good items. Even the high end crafted recipes are dropped in these same dungeons.

>Blizzard's target audience is not the every day player but rather the player who has tons of uninterruptible time to devote to the game. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but just know what you are getting into. It'll be fun up until the high levels, but if you want to succeed there you'll have to devote a large chunk of time.
One of the best MMORPGs of all time
World of Warcraft is an excellent game, that may almost be considered too good. "Warning" If you start playing this game you may never want to stop. The ease of use for new players in the game is great, it's pretty simple for almost anyone to just pick up and play. You will continue to have fun to hours on end. The amount of quests in this game is what keeps it going. You are rarely left with the feeling that you don't know what to do next to advance your character. If this ever does happen just ask people close by what would be a good quest or place to quest for your level. Anyway I can't recommend this game more.

>Other fun things to do in the game include:
<
>Auction House
<
>Auctioning the items you find off various monsters or quest at what is called the Auction House(simple), or AH. I have tons of fun with this at the end of the day, make most of my in game money this way, it can be very addictive and fun.

>Dungeons
<
>There are some great dungeons that you need a full group to do in this game. The really fun thing about dungeons in this game is that they are actually instanced, which means only you and your group can be in the instance. All of the enemies in an instance are Elite(about 2-5 levels harder than their level). You also find some of the best items in these Instanced dungeons.

>This is some of the greatest time I have had with the game, I wouldn't recommend this below level 20, some would say wait till level 30. But I have had great times at level 20-30 pvping. The only problem with this at the moment is higher level players will sometimes attack you at random, and that is just lame in my opinion. Now when I say higher level I mean over 10 levels above you, in these cases you really have no chance against them. But it is only a slight drawback of the game. They did recently introduce a new system called the "Honor System." This is supposed to keep higher level players from doing this to lower level players. What it does is rewards you for killing players around your level. The Honor System will not reward points for killing someone that is more than a certain amount of levels below you, I blieve it is 8 or 10. You will get honor points for these kills, and they can be used to buy really nice items that you couldn't get otherwise. But this needs more implementation for it to work and make it fun for everyone. Currenty it does not give a penalty for higher levels killing lower level players, or repeated killing of the same person as they spawn.

>One thing of note, I would very much recommend getting this game new, and not buying it used. Actually never buy it used, you will not be able to use that copy of the game unless the person gives you there user name and ID. So go for a new copy. It includes 30 days of free play time, after that, $15 a month(pay to play), which it more than worth it for a game of this caliber. Blizzard hit a home run with this one!
