Customer Reviews of World Soccer Winning Eleven 9 (DVD-Rom)
I still think it's worth it ! I have written reviews before about the Konami Winning Eleven 7 and I gave it a 5 star. You have to understand that before I played the W11 series, I used to play EA FIFA games which are a shame in comparison to Konami. I gave this game a 4 stars for a few reasons which I will discuss. The gameplay is still fantastic and definitely gotten better with every new game. On the other hand the graphics are still not the best and have to admit EA have beaten Konami in ONLY that department. Another thing I would like to state is the difficulty levels in the game are a little weird. 1 star is very easy, 2 stars is also easy and, just like the 1 star, opponents don't speed up to run after you, but on 3 stars it gets really difficult, where the opponents move the ball quicker than you and start hounding you when they are defending. I believe the 2 star should be somewhere in between to get better practice. They still have flaws in the game especially with the random switching of players you are trying to control when the ball is centered between 2 or 3 of them or when defending. These are very minor problems that can be fixed but other than that game is incredibly good and worth it.
Impressive gameplay, horrible difficulty settings
WE 9 (also known as Pro Evolution) is a big step up from the last version I played, which was WE7. The graphics are slightly better, the commentary is just a little better. The gameplay, on the other hand, has really moved up a big notch. Gread fluid moves, fairly easy controls, nice combination play. It really does feel like you are out on the pitch.

>And without a doubt, this puts the FIFA series to an open shame.

>However, a *huge* problem with the game is the difficulty settings. One star is a very beginner level, my six year old son can beat the computer every time at this level. Two stars gets a bit more difficult but it's still not a challenge. Then suddenly at three stars it becomes almost impossible to win, and very easy to be beaten 0-4. There was quite a bit of complaining about this to Konami. Hopefully they have fixed this problem for the new PC version coming out in late 2006, because it really is a showstopper for most people.

>Although I could beat the computer 8 times out of 10 at the highest difficulty level in WE7, I finally put WE9 on the shelf and have not gone back to it -- it's that frustrating.
Winning Eleven 9 review
This soccer game is a lot better than FIFA. The graphics are good, and the gameplay is very realistic.

>One complaint however: Goal scoring is very difficult. I have been playing for between 10-12 hours now and I still have not scored a goal on the 1 star difficulty (out of 5 stars). Most of the time the shoot button is very touchy, and the ball sails over the goal. There is no way of aiming the shots either.

>The gameplay is amazing and very realistic, and it is fun to play until you get frusterated at the goal scoring. On one star difficulty, when I am Brazil playing some tiny club team I still lose 1-0 or 2-0, becuase my 30-40 shots on goal always miss or get saved, and the computer's 1 or 2 shots on goal always go in. This is very frusterating. Its not like I do not know how to play the game either, I am pretty experienced and tried playing it for days to learn how.

>This game would receive 5 stars from me if there was an easier way of shooting and AIMING shots. Hopefully Winning Eleven 10 will fix this.
