White Wicker Baskets I would have to disagree with the other review on these cute baskets. Mine did have somewhat of a paint smell when I removed them from the box, but it went away within a day or so and there is nothing wrong with the paint or the construction of the baskets I received. I also purchased the wicker hamper and have been very pleased with it as well. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
Not pleased at all!
First, the positives: the baskets are the perfect shape and size I was looking for in the nursery for the changing table. And the green gingham matched the decor. That's why I give the product 2 stars. Now, the NEGATIVES: the baskets were obviously painted right before they were assembled. THe paint smell was horrid, who knows how long I would have to air them out before putting them in my baby's room. I don't want him breathing those fumes! Also, there were smudge marks both from fingerprints of workers and from other baskets that were nested with these two because they did not let them dry long enough. THe paint also did not completely cover the wicker. ANd when I took off the gingham liner, the underside of the liner had paint on it because there wasn't enough drying time allowed. Plus, just pulling the baskets out of teh box sent little wicker shoots flying, meaning crummy construction. Every time I touched the baskets, splinters would come off. Not something I want in MY nursery.
