Customer Reviews of Which Way Por Favor
Funny, sexy, moving I saw this movie at a film festival in New York at the same time that My Big Fat Greek Wedding was out. I saw it right after Greek Wedding, and I found Which Way Por Favor to be much better. Which Way Por Favor features a strong script, superb acting, and the wonderful backdrop of a small Mexican beach town--great inspiration for anyone thinking about a Mexican getaway. It's about four American journeyers who find themselves drawn into the lives of the villagers in ways they never could have imagined. In the process, they find themselves and each other. It's funny, at times deeply moving, and sexy as hell. This film proves beyond a doubt that you don't need a big budget to make a great film. If you want to see a good movie and at the same time support independent filmmaking at its finest, pick this one up.
A Mexico Dream!
Very few films ever seem to capture the small details that make rustic Mexican life by the sea so enchanting. This little movie, with its offbeat characters, intriguing storylines, and charming eye on the beauty and texture of the landscape, succeeds. If you want a big budget hollywood film with Julia Roberts or Brad Pitt, you won't find it here, but if you appreciate smaller independent films that aren't afraid to be intimate and quirky, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this film. The story of the spiritual seeker is especially funny -- and the music is lovely and rich. My wife and I loved it!
real people and beautiful shots of Mexico
This movie has a natural exuberance distinctly not the result of
big stars or fast-action or urban glam. Two other things I liked about this movie:the characters are real people, not fantasy Hollywood people. Its refreshing to see a movie in which the actors are not big professionals with big Hollywood personas. They do a better job of acting real ordinary people with ordinary and flawed personalities like the rest of us. I also liked it because the occasional interspersing of nature shots, mexican wildlife, gila monsters, lizards was so interesting and
tastefully done. The music was also first class and matched the
story and pace perfectly.
