I like this video I really like this video, and many of Kathy Smith's videos. Even though I consider myself between beginner and intermediate, I am able to modify the moves and follow this video. Kathy Smith almost always shows ways of modifying the workout to your fitness level. There is about one six minute segment that I will fast forward, because she gets a little crazy and hard to follow, but the other 55 minutes is a great workout. As I get better, I'll do the whole tape. I also own her functionally fit, kickboxing, step aerobics (from 1992), and her beginner's yoga video. My favorite is the step aerobics from 1992.
Great Results
Kathy Smith's Weight Loss Workout completely gave me a new approach to fitness. I started this workout about two months after I had my daughter and the variations of the intensity, style mixed with weights, really made me sweat and changed my whole aspect about working out with weights, because they REALLY help burn fat. The different sections in this tape really made working out fun and challenging. I lost 30 pounds in 4 months, with proper eating of course. She explains how she just had a baby and I was like NO WAY because she looked great,until I followed this workout along with her nutrition advice at the end that teaches you how to eat healthy and cut calories in a simple manner. Well it's possible because I have toned arms and legs, and went from 155 lbs. at 5ft6 to 122lbs. I recommend this tape to anyone who needs to LOSE WEITHT and TONE their BODY!
Weight Loss Workout
This is the video I use to "start up" when I have gotten out of shape. I use this one and her Intermediate Yoga tape on a rotating basis until I no longer feel challenged by the aerobics and then I move on to other tapes - almost always Kathy Smith because she has such a great enthusiastic, but non annoying manner. I would highly recommend this one to anyone with a lot of weight to lose or who is just starting out. Be careful though, in the "50's" section, I never do the hopping moves the others are doing, for the sake of my knees, but she doesn't show low impact alternatives. After nine months of "consistency is the key" exercising, I have lost 55 lbs. and it is in no small part thanks to Kathy Smith.
