Customer Reviews of Watch Me
A contemporary country masterpiece With four major country hit singles and six other great songs, this is one of the best albums that Lorrie recorded. I can't make up my mind between this and her debut, Leave the light on, but both are brilliant so who cares? The style of the music is contemporary country, nineties style, with electric instruments as well as fiddle, mandolin and steel guitar.
The four big hits were Half enough, I guess you had to be there, What part of no and Watch me, all of them brilliant. It's a heartache is a cover of the Bonnie Tyler classic. Bonnie's original version was a big country hit, since when several country singers have recorded it including Juice Newton as well as Dave and Sugar. Lorrie's version is also excellent. Of the other songs, I particularly like You leave me like this and From our house to yours, but the other three - Someone to call me darling, Behind his last goodbye and She's taking him back again - are also of a high quality.
If you enjoy nineties country music, you should enjoy this album.
Lorrie's great as usual
Another fine album from Lorrie. Lorrie's albums are always full of great songs that show how a woman can be strong but at the same time, feminine. She is best at ballads,.."I guess you had to be there" is one of the loveliest, yet bittersweet, ones I've heard. This is a terrific album...highly recommended.
Lorrie Cannot Go Wrong
She makes take charge country music without sounding like a feminist. Her feminism comes from a softer and more emotional place than some of her Nashville sisters. I really loved this CD and found it uplifting, as usual. Lorrie is great!
