Customer Reviews of Washington Post
It Gets No Better {5 Stars} Being a native and resident Washingtonian, I have to agree with Lowell R., there simply isn't a better paper to be found around here. The Washington Post may be a little to the left, but it's not as over the top as the other Washington newspaper, The Washington Times (which is way to the right). <

>Where the Post has the Times beat is easily its variety. Classifieds, Style, Metro, and an awesome Sports section with heavy emphasis on local teams (Redskins, Wizards, Capitals, Nationals, United, etc...) and great columns from writers like Michael Wilbon, Tony Kornheiser (from ESPN's Pardon The Interruption), and a few other notables. That puts it head and shoulders above the Times because The Times simply lacks variety. The Sunday Post is all inclusive and virtually untouchable. It offers all of the above as well as a huge classified section, an Outlook section, expanded Comic section, TV Guide, and a few mini magazines. <

>I'd recommend this paper to anyone. I started reading this paper back in high school because of its awesome sports section and now I can't start my day without reading the whole thing.
High quality often, but too far to the left politically
The 'Post'is a high - quality paper, second in many ways only to the 'New York Times'. I am a fan of its 'Book- Review' section and the work of Michael Dirda, and Jonathan Yardley.

>However its political line troubles me, and I find it far too left. Moreover I have found it far too often imbalanced in its Middle- East Reporting. It at one point reported with sympathy on suicide- bombers while pretty much making next- to- nothing of the stories of their victims. This 'tilt Palestine-Arab' policy has made them underreport the vicious propaganda and terror activity which fuel the Middle East conflict.

Best Newspaper in Washington
Only the New York Times can overshadow this daily collection of some of the best reporting in the world. And if you live in or near D.C, there is simply no better choice. The Post, for obvious reasons, offers great political reporting and a thorough editorial page. Unlike the NY Times, it has a Sunday "Outlook" section, which is 6-8 pages of opinion plus the regular editorials and op-eds. Good sports section with strong emphasis on local teams, especially Redskins.
