Customer Reviews of War of Art
Perfect ! ! ! This is by far the best new band of 2001!... AHC have perrfectly mixed Faith No More and Slayer... With a mix of keyboards and slashing riffs. I don't understand how people can call this nu-metal. Nu-metal is tolerable, but not great. This just...rocks. Explain that. Well, the album itself is very long, but in a good way. Like Tool, American Head Charge's album is a long mantra of great music. I have got to say that I am immpressed at how well they can play, sing, and write lyrics. The songs are all just great. The best are by far "Effigy", "All Wrapped up", "Seamless", "Never Get Caught", and "Just So You Know". But those are just the standout tracks. The rest of the album is just amazing as well. The band's one of the best outfits that I have seen in quite sometime. I really have high hopes for this band in the future. I hope that they do NOT get popular like Slipknot and System of a Down...because well, after people started recognizing them, they haven't been the same...If could say one thing to the band it would be to keep up the kick...work ! ! !

Excellent work
One thing I love about nu-metal is its eclecticism, and American Head Charge further prove the potential of the genre with this suprisingly original album. Although I don't really like making comparisons, American Head Charge combine elements of the musical assaults of such bands as Slipknot, Mudvayne, Static-X, and Nothingface. "The War of Art" is 67 minutes of controlled fury, led by stuttering guitars, a propulsive rhythm section, and some well-placed industrial flourishes. This album also boasts a suprisingly groovy sound, with the songs flowing extremely well. The band is at its best during the slower numbers, as somewhat melodic vocals blend with grinding guitars for an interesting contrast. The musicianship is very tight, with particularly impressive guitar riffing. The sound is also pretty unique, if not groundbreaking, making "The War of Art" well worth the extremely inexpensive price of the disc.
hell of debut
This album took a little getting used to quite honestly. They dont really sound like any band i know of (even if they have been compared to slipknot which i think is very much not true). They are definitely industrial just to get that straight. It was only after listening to the album about 4 times that i actually started to like. And once you start to like it you get a little obssessive about it. Songs like Just so you know, Fall and especially Effigy 23 which seems to stick in your mind are really great tracks with lots of industrial sounds. The sirens always fool me (silly me), gets me to look out of the window heh heh heh. I gave it a four basically b/c there are a few tracks that could be better and i am grading on a curve based on rammstein.
