Customer Reviews of Waiting for the Sirens' Call (U.S. Bonus Track)
Pioneers of New Wave Succumb To Industry Sounds I got this CD shipped from Britain, where it was released two months before it did in the U.S., minus a remixed bonus track of "Guilt Is A Useless Emotion," which was added as a selling point overseas. It was actually a worthwhile addition that surpassed the original version in the record. It's ironic that New Order didn't have much to do with that track. <

>Waiting For The Siren's Call is not a bad CD, it's just not what one would come to expect from New Order. Basically it's a mainstream pop record, with some decent dance tracks. My beef with the record is that it's just too softcore for what the essence of New Order is, what it should be at least. Like the professional reviewer wrote, this is the mother of all those revivalist bands that dominate the independent music scene nowadays and this record is so watered down, so safe, without risks and without those raw turns that bent the border of new wave and full-fledged rock and roll of their classic sound, which is something that this CD is not, by any means.
Good as ever
This is no "comeback" or "reunion" album, 'cause they never really went away. They've been writing great music all along. No stunts, no interviews, no fancy website, no even pictures. Just music, really good music

>This is as good a New Order album as one can buy. Pay closer atention to "Jetstream" and "Guilt is a useless emotion" and be happy this is no longer vinil, or the neetle would just wear through the tracks.
It just keeps getting better!
A long time fan of 80s music and of New Order I missed the release of this album. Decided to get it based on the reviews. All I can say is WOW. The more you listen the more you will become entranced. Similar to Depeche Mode's "Playing the Angel" it just keeps getting better. Both albums are terrific.
