Customer Reviews of Wallborder - Whirligig
This looks great! I absolutely LOVE this nursery theme. And this border really makes a room come together. Yes, you do have to use wallpaper paste. I've done lots of wallpapering and border work and you almost always have to use paste even when it says prepasted for all wallpapers and borders. It's one of those ugly secrets no one tells you until you have a bad experience. But if you use border paste, this goes up very quickly and looks great. It is a two person job as others have said but it's not difficult and I did our nursery in about 45 minutes so it doesn't take long at all. Ours in just above chair rail trim that runs slightly higher than the center of the wall. The top of the wall is mint green and the bottom is lavender and it looks great. My son loves laying on the changing table and cooing at the bugs on the wall. I would definately recommend this product!
Border goes up great using border paste
After reading the reviews, my husband and I decided to go straight to using the border paste. No matter how you approach it, this is probably a two-person job, unless you are something of a professional.
We found that pre-measuring each wall, allowing for some overlap when pre-cutting the pieces was the best way to go. For a few spots where the border seemed to come up a little, we just added a little more paste under the edge with a Q-tip and then everything was fine. We didn't even bother with using a sponge and water after a bit, since it didn't seem to help at all.
Our walls are a light green and it looks great with the border. It really pulls the room together.
this border is great
I actually put the border up all by myself in a little over an hour. I have never hung a border up before and lost the directions for it. So I got a dishpan and filled it halfway with water and cut the border into 6 foot sections. This is what allowed me to hang it by myself. Then I soaked the border little by little in the pan and it went up on the wall with no problems, it stuck well and the corners didn't peal up. I matched up the sections perfectly and smoothed the border down with a dish towel to get the excess water off and to press it on to the wall. I absolutley love the way it looks on the pastel yellow wall.
