Customer Reviews of WWF - Wrestlemania X 8 - Icon vs. Icon
very good final wwf version of wrestlemania a few questions though. first the WM 18 theme music. can someone tell me why saliva's song "superstar" was replaced by drowning pool's song "tear away". saliva performed "superstar" live to open up the event and they and the song are actually on this dvd so why did it(theme music)have to be changed. and also i heard that when this 2-disc set was originally released it came with a third disc shinkwrapped to the back of the set. was and is this true, and did it come with all WM 18 sets or did it just come with a few copies of WM 18 these sets. i heard it was a like a sky blue color disc that covered WM 1-16. can someone let me know. thanks.

>Pretty good opener. More action than I expected. Van Dam wins the Intercontinental Championship. ***1/2

>WWF European Championship:

>Diamond Dallas Page (Champion) V. Christian

>This match was alot better than what I would have ever expected. It still wasn't a classic or anything like that. DDP retains. ***1/4

>WWF Hardcore Championship:

>Maven(Champion) V. Goldust

>I do believe that this is the first and only WrestleMania that started with three Championship matches. This match was stupid and didn't end because someone who I forget comes down and wins the title.

>Kurt Angle V. Kane
<
>This match was very good. This was the time where Kane was actually wrestling very good. Angle wins the match of course. ***3/4

>No Disqualification Match:

>Ric Flair V. Undertaker
<
>Awesome. I thought that this match would steal the show and it did in my eyes even though I think I gave the Rock/Hogan match the same rating. Great spots by Flair (of course) and the Dead Man wins at WrestleMania (of course) ****1/4

>Stone Cold Steve Austin V. Scott Hall

>This macth was...horrible. The in-ring work (what little time they were in the ring) seemed like both men had been drinking all day. Austin of course wins. *3/4

>The Rock V. Hollywood Hulk Hogan
<
>This match was voted the Match Of The Year for 2002 even though I think the WWE Tag Team Championship Match at the 2002 No Mercy with Angle/Benoit V. Edge (yes, I did mention Edge in the same sentence as the phase "Match Of The year") & Mysterio was better and had a better story to tell and better in-ring work. This match was still awesome and had some high spots in it. The Rock defeats the "legendary" Hulk Hogan. ****1/4

>Undisputed Championship:
<
>Chris Jericho (Champion) V. Triple H
<
>Yes, there actually was a time where Jericho main evented Pay-Per-Views in singles matches. This match was very, very good in my opinion. Some people don't like it but i do. Great story told and great finish with The Game winning the Undisputed Championship! ****

>Overall, a very good Mania. Angle/Kane, Flair/Taker, Rock/Hogan, Jericho/HHH were awesome and gret to watch.
Why is there two different versions of this DVD?
Ive seen bits and pieces of this event, and it looks great. I got the dvd in the mail, I started to watch matches that looked good. Ive noticed some matches have back stories, which is cool if you forgot why they are fighting. The extras on a couple dvds are the same. I mean how many moments can you have on DVD every year? This is not bloated like Wrestlemaina 20's 3 disc set, but Wrestlemaina 20 was a pretty crappy, over produced event. Anther cool extra feature that Im surprised no one has meteioned on this dvd is the complete Warrior-Hogan title match at Wrestlemaina 1990. This dvd is worth it for that extra plus alot of good matches, although its a little over blown. I cannot tell the differnces between this dvd and the other one for sale.
