>one of my all time favorites this match had everything good mat wrestling, brutality of big moves, and a lot of drama from two of my favorites from the early 00s it was like a street fight version because angle bleeded like a he was in a horror film or in a bruce willis die hard movie austin was in control half to most of the match until angle did ric flair and made a huge comeback but it wasn't enough 2 win his second title though i wished the finished was actually completed instead of all austin beat up the referees which ruined the match for me slightly but still my choice for match of the year ****3/4 <

>just three days after chris benoit birthday and he is treated to teaming up with jericho again after winning their tag team belts against hhh and stone cold steve austin in the best non gimmick tag team matchup of the year benoit and jericho faced the expert teams of tlc matches the dudleys, hardys, and edge and christan i don't know which is the best all time tlc match this one and tlc 1 from summerslam 2000 this was my tv match of the year this tlc match had some of the same moves used in different and more creative fashion chris benoit selling in this match was prominent when he went for the diving heatbutt to matt hardy outside the ring but matt moved out the way and benoit hit nothing except the table injuried his ribs and knocked him out he looked dead i was so scared because even tazz had to stop doing commentary but after he regain strong he was ok and continue the match and successfully defended the tag team titles with jericho jericho played a big role because he was little without a partner when benoit was hurt so jerico had to be his own tag team meaning he had to work as hard as the rest of the teams did and he did a decent job bumping off the ring while benoit was getting medical treatment jericho showed that he was comparable of being a team player and he did just that in this match and the other match 3 days before this one that i mentioned ****3/4 <

>3. Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit royal rumble 2001 ladder match <
>one of the best ladder matches since hhh vs rock and it was slightly better than that two master technicans proved the critics wrong about not having to be insane daredevils who put their bodies on the line like the hardys, dudleys, and edge and christan were they both mixed it up with technical moves and a bit of high flying magic tricks on and off the ladder the moves that they did all clicked in the match each men took about five moves a piece this match reminded me a little of shawn vs razor's ladder match six years before this because it wasn't only a high flying ladder match but also a technical one great matches by two of my favorite technical wrestlers at the time ****3/4 <

>kurt angle showed y he is da next benoit and hbk by taking shane to the limits of having his best brutal match ever this was a bumpfest but did a some good mat wrestling by both kurt and shane the moves in here are so brutal that mankind would have probably went with a normal matchup kurt and shane both acted like they were battling in the streets of harlem because they went all over the place and use nearly every weapon u could possibly think of and do moves that u thought seen it all it this match it this match went on for about 20-24 minutes long this is one of my favorite street fight matches almost on the same level as hhh vs catcus jack 00 and hbk vs mankind 96 i am glad that both men made it out alive which is what made me also enjoy the match because both wrestlers could be alive to tell what was going through there minds about the moves they did when in this match ****1/2-****3/4 <

>5. HHH vs Stone Cold three stages of h*ll <
>i orignally had this on my top three list but after seeing the other matches i had to but this at the top five because it wasn't as good as the other matches above this stone cold and hhh were both my favorites at the time i guessed that what match me have this match as nearly my favorite of 2001 don't get me wrong this is still a good match but the beginning when the wrestlers was warming up and the ending of the match when both wrestlers was burned out was slightly lacking while the middle was off the rate that was when they were both at their prime of the match by the way this was a 2 out of 3 falls match the first fall would be a regular match while the second was a street fight and the third would be a cage match the street brawl was the best match out of the three and the normal match was my second fight the cage was good but my least favorite because i could see both men were very tired but still giv

When Was This DVD Released?
"Best of WWF 2001" is from TNN's 2001 New Year's Eve Special. It is the exact same thing that was on TV except for the video montages on certain superstars. I did not even know this show was on DVD. Maybe it was only available on DVD. The DVD talks about major surprises, best kisses, and shows a the 9/11 tribute. The best part of the DVD is that it shows the top ten matches from 2001. They are not shown in thier entirety, but are stil great. <

>Good exciting match. Ladder mathces are the best. Good high spots and innovative offense. Watch for the Walls of Jericho on Benoit on the top of the ladder. (9/10) <

>This match was not a Street Fight, but turned into one when the ref gets knocked out. Good spot when the Undertaker chokeslams Tiple H off a scaffold. Very exciting finish. (9/10) <

>One of my all time favorite matches. These two go all out for this match. Shane pulls off some crazy spots. Watch for the Angle Slam off the board on the top rope. Pay attention to the kid in the light blue shirt in the front row after this move. He makes the move even more exciting with the way he reacts. (10/10) <

>One of the best straight up tag matches you will ever see. This is the infamous match in which Triple H injures his quad. It is a testament to his love for wrestling to see how long he wrestled after being hurt. Lost in this, is the greatness of the match. Very exciting. (9/10) <
