WCW Bash At The Beach 1999 Review
This Bash at the Beach PPV was as good or better as the 98 version which I also own. This first match between The Cat and Disco Inferno was good and I loved the beginning of the match where The Cat wanted to do another dance contest. The next match was just a big man tough brawl between the TV champ Rick Steiner and Van Hammer which didn't last very long...average match. The next one I did enjoy between the US champ David Flair defending against Dean Malenko, the reason I enjoyed this match was because I loved seeing Flair get his tail kicked all around the ring. Then came an 8-man elimination match with Rap vs Country in an oh so average tag match. After that the fun started, seeing a junkyard hardcore match for the WCW hardcore trophy was exciting to see and funny at the same time. The junkyard match led up to the handicapped tag team title match with the Triad of Bam Bam Bigelow, Kanyon, and DDP facing off against the team of Saturn and Chris Benoit in another reason why WCW should of made Benoit a world champion a lot sooner. After that great match another comic relief match comes our way as Buff Bagwell faced Roddy Piper in a boxing match with Judge Mills Lane as the ref, this match had nothing exciting about it so let's skip it. Then, the main event, Kevin Nash and Sting vs Sid Vicious and Randy Savage in a tag match for the World Title which means if Savage pins Nash he gets the strap, if Vicious pins Nash he gets the belt and even if Nash's own partner Sting pins him, he gets the belt. This match was pretty cool, lots of high spots and an unpredicable ending, personally, I was rooting for Sting! This was a great PPV, but first if I were you I would rent it before doing anything that you'll regret, unless you see it used at a video store like I did. 3 WORDS...Rent 'BEFORE' Buying.
