This powerful, compact heater will warm a 10-foot-square room in about 15 minutes and then continuously maintain it at the selected temperature by electronically adjusting its heat and fan, thereby eliminating annoying on-and-off, hot-and-cold cycles. The heater can also be operated manually with high/low heat and fan options, as well as the automatic system connected to the thermostat. With the thermostat turned off, the heater converts to a two-speed fan. Nonglowing heat elements and electronic shutoff in case of tip-over provide safety. The durable, cool-touch plastic cabinet measures just 12-1/2 by 11-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches, and the heater operates at either 750 watts (low) or 1,500 watts (high).  Comfortable Affordable Economic and Safe
I have owned Vornado products for over six years now. The products are extremely dependable. The heater is terrific for several reasons: I have pets and if the heater is knocked over it automatically turns off; and, the heater never gets "hot" to the touch, which is convenient because you don't have to worry about your pet's touching it. The Vornado heater can also save you money on your heating bills. I recently was disabled so my income is much lower than before. I have choose to not use my whole house heater and simply use my Vornado heater in my living room (when I am in the living room), the bathroom (when I am there) and the bedroom (when I am there). I will end with this: the heater is also very quite without the irritating on/off sounds that other heaters make. It is obvious that I am extremely happy with this product and would not hesitate to buy again.
Super quiet and very effective
I bought this heater primarily to heat my computer room/home office during the cold Colorado winters so I don't have to blast the whole-house furnace as much. I also intend to carry it around occasionally, like to the basement for when I want to work in my workshop. The Vornado works wonderfully. It is very lightweight and solidly built. The controls are easy to use and intuitive. I really like that it has the High/Low switch which enables you to limit the heater to 0-750 watts or 0-1500 watts. This way, if you don't need instant total-room temperature, you can use the lower power setting to warm the room gradually, but if you are cold, the High setting will blast out the heat and then throttle-down when the temperature is reached. Either way, once the room is at temperature, the unit uses the lowest electricity required to maintain the temp. As for the Vornado's ability to heat a room, it is excellent. The fan is nearly silent and does a very good job of circulating the warm air around the room to provide a nice even heat. For me, since I use the unit primarily in my computer room, I can't even hear the Vornado at all over the computer's fans. However, in a quiet room, the Vornado continues to please by being a silent servant. ...
Exactly what I as looking for
I diligently searched the internet for a heater to use in our basement bedroom (15 x 12). I wanted something safe, reliable, quiet, effective, and with specific degree settings and auto mode. After reading many, many reviews on various websites, this one kept showing up as one of the best and had everything I was looking for. It has tip-over (which wouldn't occur that often because it is short and has a low center of gravity) and overheat safety shut-offs, and does an excellent job of heating and circulating heat; I can't even hear when it turns on (except when I am right next to it), unlike most others when in auto mode. It also had an actual temperature dial as opposed to the less customizable "HI" and "LO" or some unquantifiable knob with a sloping graphic. I would highly recommend this product.
