Customer Reviews of Vol. 2-Dance Traxx
Eighties Dance Hits in Extended Form This cd is great because all the songs are full length remixed versions! You have both Nu Shooz hits "I Can't Wait" and "Point of no Return", Stacy Q's two hi-nrg hits "Two of Hearts" and "We Connect", Nancy Martinez's "For Tonight", U.K. artists Mel & Kim with "Showing Out", Miami artists Nice and Wild with their smash hit "Diamond Girl" and a couple of other great songs as well. If you enjoyed dance/pop from the 80's you'll love this. Also which I recommend is 80's Dance Party on SPG records which also have the full length mixes! Highly recommended!
Cheesy 80's dance pop at it's tastiest
I first bought this album based on a critic's recommendation, not knowing that he was writing about Vol. 1. I liked it just fine (maybe in part because of the mistake - my mind was more open to it) and when I finally located Vol. 1, I enjoyed it even more. (It's rather odd that only 2 is still in print, especially since 1 has a much more recognizable list of artists). This is mid-80's dance pop - silly, electrobeat heavy, mindless in the best possible way, and good fun if you have a taste for the genre. You get Nu Shooz's one shining top 40 moment, their not-bad followup, Stacy Q's classic Barbie doll imitation, Regina's Madonna rip (aided and abetted by Mad's early collaborator Stephen Bray), and four other artists I've never heard of before or since (which is probably for the best). They all sound aces here, remixed and pumped up for your pleasure.
