Do not buy this card. I was looking for a low-cost GeForce 2 MX based card, the first card I tried was a Kaser brand and it turned out to be a bad/dead card. The XTasy was my second choice. Knowing VisionTek makes reference cards for nVidia I was hoping this would be a gem, unfortunely it was not!
The card works fine untill you begin to put some serious strain on it and then it locks your system (hard crash). This problem is especially obvious when you open up multiple windows in 2D mode (try opening two or three web browsers and scrolling around the top nav menus on one of the browsers quickly, do this for about a minute and that's all it should take to bring your system down). A quick scan of Internet newsgroups informed me that I was not alone; this issue seems to be a "known problem" with this card with some motherboards. How do you know if your motherboard is one of the ones that works? You don't, so just go with another brand. (The locals Frys has a stock of about ten "refurb" XTacy cards that have been returned to the store by "unsatifised customers")

I'm running Windows 2000 with all Microsoft updates and patches current. Running DirectX 8.1 for Win2k, and I downloaded the latest drivers from nVidias site. My hardware is from Dell, it's three years old and has been running almost non-stop since it was setup three years ago (WITH NO PROBLEMS). I've installed memory and updated the hard-drive (last year) with no problems, and no crashes, this video card is obviously the instable factor and this kind of instability is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE for any hardware maker.
Think I got a bad card? Well, anything is possible, but I believe the biggest problem is with the manufactures poor choice of design. There is no heat sink or fan on this board, why? It seems every other manufacturer using ANY GeForce chipset is at least smart enough to put a fan on the card. Not these guys, pass and tell your friends to stay away too.
Ok card for the price
One nice plus about this card is it's made in the USA for all you patriotic types. Of course that probably means "assembled in the USA from 100% taiwanese parts" but anyway...
It's a decent card for its current price and will run pretty much all the high-performance games currently out like Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Max Payne without any problems. My concern over this card is it's really being pushed to the limit. Even Max Payne needed to have some of the settings turned down for best performance. I fear in less than a year this card will be obsolete.
Using the 3DMark 2001 benchmark program I was averaging scores of around 1400 on a 1 gig Athlon. For only a little more money you can get cards that are 2-3x faster such as the Hercules cards utilizing the Kyro II chipset or other cards utilizing the Geforce 2 GTS/Pro chipset (my personal recommendation). Check those other cards, then weigh the price vs. performance to see if this card is right for you.
