The top of the line Verbatim makes an excellent DVD disc. The DataLife Plus appears to be the best of their line. Of all the discs available, only Taiyo Yuden is comparable. For anyone new to DVD recording, don't waste precious memories by purchasing a lesser quality product in order to save a few cents. I can only recommend the two brands mentioned, you'll be quite pleased.

Burn fast, data stays on the disc. All I need in a DVD-R.
printable, but....
I burned a few data discs without any problems. Now here's where I look stoopid. I bought these because they were advertised as 'printable' at the retailer's website. Then I discovered they are 'silkscreen' printable, not inkjet printable. Gotta say that they look pretty cool with inkjet graphics on them, but it rubs right off. Doh!
