Customer Reviews of Vegetarian Times
Amazingly bad customer service / editorial office My sister bought a gift subscription to Vegetarian Times for me two years ago. I have yet to receive one copy of the magazine! I called after a few months and the customer service rep was incredibly rude/insulting to me and said they had no record of my subscription. I sent a letter and received one back that they had made a mistake in my subscription and I should receive it any day. That was over a year ago. I have since sent another letter saying to just refund the subscription since I never received anything. THAT was about 6 months ago. No magazine, no refund. I am trying to figure out what to do; I just hate sitting here and letting them get by with it - will try the Better Business Bureau next I guess... So be warned: This magazine may be great, I don't know since I never received it, but if you have a problem with it don't count on getting any service whatsoever.
Don't listen to the critics!
A lot of people have spent a lot of time writing reviews picking apart this magazine. From someone that does not extensively read into each and every little detail of the magazine (such as how the photos are taken or what reciepes are given)this magazine is wonderful. I ventured into vegetarianism over 7 months ago, and I was sent 5 free months of this magazine just for simply taking a "veggie pledge" -and found this magazine not only light-hearted, but supportive, and with articles that are about every day life.
<
>Some reviewers may get upset that they have gone mainstream, or there is not enough "vegan" reciepes, however for a broad overview of living a vegetarian lifestyle, you could not ask for anything more.
<
>The articles make me feel good, make me laugh, and let me know of "crucial" situations- without making me feel insanely guilty enough to not eat for 2 days. This is not the type of magazine that tells you to protest every little thing- if you are looking for radical, look elsewhere. However if you are looking for a wonderful little magazine that brings you into the mainstream vegetarian world- gives you some great reciepes, great web sites, and some wonderful editorials, look here.
<
>No, it is not radical.
<
>No, it is not 100% vegan,
<
>however give the magazine some credit for taking a very difficult step for many people- and making it not only look easy, but fun. Even in my community of many not vegetarians, I can open this magazine up and feel like I belong.
<
>If you want a light-hearted read with still close attention to details, look no further.
<
>VT, you've got my subscription, and you will keep having it. Not because I love your "pictures" but because you give me a sense of purpose and belonging in a world where sometimes I feel I have none.

I liked it!
I am new to vegetarianism and at a loss for what to eat. I picked up this magazine and enjoyed it cover to cover. Nice recipes, lots of health info. I don't feel so lost. I don't want a militant magazine. I don't want to read shocking, alarming things. I already get the idea, which is why I picked up this magazine to begin with. I want to know how to get enough protein, nice dishes that I can get my carnivorous husband to eat. Hopefully, I'll be able to cajole him into going vegatarian, too, by pleasant example and health benefits. I liked it.
