While striving to be Hitchcockian in theme (as evidenced by its multiple references to the director himself), the film never quite moves beyond cliché. Many scenes are a little too reminiscent of other popular teen horror flicks like Scream (the anonymous masked killer, though not nearly as frightening), The Blair Witch Project (Amy is chased through desolate woods by her stalker), and Friday the 13th (Amy hides from the killer in a lake setting eerily similar to the one where Jason died so many years ago). These elements seem just a little worn out. Morrison gives a serviceable performance, and Loretta Devine, from the original Urban Legend, adds humor as a Foxy Brown-worshiping security guard. The film manages to keep you guessing until its conclusion, and a sequence set in an abandoned amusement park is truly creepy. But ultimately Urban Legends: Final Cut lacks the originality to make a name for itself among the many films of its genre. --Mindy Ruehmann

Customer Reviews of Urban Legends - Final Cut
URBAN CRAP 99 mins of suck..good thing i don't have a life..some nudity (eva mendes' fun bags?) definitely would have raised this movie another star..couldn't wait to look at the talent files(he he) <
>after the movie was over..can't wait for the next one <

cheap holloween mask would be scarier imo
I've just watch this movie and it is basically a stupid slasher where film students making the 'self titled' movie ends up getting slashed, shall we say, one by one. Ho hum...like what else is new. Let me start off by saying that any slasher type movies where the producers think the audience are so ignorant in which 'we' would react the same way if placed in the same situation like those victims in their movie...it is NOT TRUE because we have brains HELLO!!!! and it just rubs me the wrong way by them assuming that. There are so many warnings where people are being killed off by some UL wacko and yet they stayed!!! At least in Jason everyone stayed until there is only one victim left who is smart enough to try to leave and end up killing hockey face until the next sequel. But these victims like in that cave prop act like they wanna die by being so corny about the whole ordeal before they ultimately end up meeting their maker. And whats up with the fencer mask outfit anyways. Like that makes alot of sense for an urban legend movie lol....not enough money in the budget to buy a holloween mask eh? Now it is fitting that the ending is corny too but if i tell you how it ends, i be laughing too hard to type it down.

>IN MY OPINION: I HATED THIS MOVIE! This movie rips off alot of horror movies such as Scream 3. This is John Ottman's debut and in my opinion he ruined his career with this peice of junk. I liked the original, I thought it was awesome, but this movie talks about making a horror movie instead of Urban Legends. Oh yeah, I don't mean to spoil it for you guys who are gonna watch it, but this is a movie in a movie which is so stupid. Oh yeah, and Jennifer Morrison sucks in her role, but there is good acting. But either way the movie is not good.

>OVERALL: I warn you, if your still gonna watch it. Some people do like this movie, and you might too, but if your a horror movie lover, you'd be disapointed with the horrifyingly bad sequel to the B+ original.
