Great carrier!
I admit to being a baby carrier addict: I own six different baby carriers (2 slings, 2 hip style carriers, a Baby Bjorn, and a backpack) and the Urban Baby Carrier is my favorite. I wish I had had it with my older child. The slings were great when my baby was younger and couldn't hold her head up, but by about 5 months she wanted to see more of the world and we were ready to move on to something else. The Urban Baby Carrier is great because it allows the baby to look around more and holds her secure next to mom or dad. Unlike my other hip carrier, the Urban Baby Carrier has a safety belt that goes around the baby, as well as leg straps to put the baby's legs through for extra security. I don't think we will still be using the Urban Baby Carrier at 35 pounds, but I do think I will be able to use it for quite a while. It is comfortable, has a nice sporty look, and has convenient pockets for carrying a spare diaper and a wallet. My only complaint is about the rain hood. It is sewn into one of the outer pockets and takes up a lot of space. I wish it were held in place with velco so it could be removed easily. Since it is highly unlikely I will ever use it, I simply cut the hood out. I now have a lot more room to carry other things.
Not Very Comfortable
I bought this item because the Snugli front/back carrier became too small for my 2 month old. I thought maybe this hipster would be the answer. Unfortunately, with all the weight shifting to one side, even the well-padded straps cause some neck discomfort. Since it's a hipster, it does not offer the versatility of being used in other positions. I just don't feel comfortable with this carrier. I feel my baby could fall out at any moment even with all the straps in place. I decided to buy the Infantino EuroRider and am much happier with that purchase. If you have a large baby with big legs, the EuroRider is great.
