AWFUL! Nothing but aggrivation!
I bought this chair and ottoman because the price was right compared to other pink gingam chairs we saw, but truthfully, I didn't even care that it was cheaper, the shade of pink matched our baby bedding and alot of others we saw were too peach or purple looking near the bedding set. <

> The first chair and ottoman BabiesRUs delivered was broken. They apologized and I had to wait about 4 weeks for a new one. This time the chair was fine, but the ottoman was completely lopsided! The next ottoman (another 4 weeks)had a skirt (this is the one I finally kept because it was the only ottoman that actually glided like the one in the store) that was 4 inches too long dragging on the floor. By the time the next ottoman was delivered, the baby was already born and this ottoman didnt move back and forth. The one after that would move in one direction if you pushed really hard and then it would make a big clunking noise. This just kept happening, and I swear I have never been one to make a fuss over this kind of thing. <

>The store ordered 9 different ottomans and I eventually kept the one with the 4 inch dragging skirt because it was the only one that glided relatively smooth and quietly. The store owner said "Well you know its value priced, so you cant expect much." And at the time, not only is it NOT marked or advertised as "value priced," butI paid over $550 for the chair and ottoman with delivery. The store owner's attitude was a disgrace, and my feeling is that if your attitude is that "value priced" means "inoperable trash" that would be one thing- obviously they are selling stuff that they dont stand behind. This was the absolute LAST aggrivation I needed as a pregnant mom on bedrest. Even the store manager (who at least tried to be helpful)told me, "If they delivered this to my house, I'd have the same reaction. I wouldnt pay for this." <

>2 chairs and 9 ottomans! You'd be INSANE to buy this product! Don't make the same mistake I did. The chair has no back support, it is VERY low and difficult to get out of with an infant in your arms, and you will probably NEVER get an ottoman that works. Don't be ripped off- avoid this product. Had I known then what I know now I would have happily paid twice as much for a purplish pink or peachy pink gingham somewhere else!

Decent nursery chair
I took my time buying this chair and ottoman because I was concerned about the negative reviews. I went to a Babies R Us store looking for an alternative...and was surprised to discover that the same chair I liked at the store was the one I was reading about here. <
>I decided to take a chance and get it because I didn't want a traditional glider, a rocking chair was out of the question (unfortunately- pet tails and little fingers could be in danger), and I didn't want to drop $600 on an upholstered chair. <
>Here's what I observed: <
>*The fabric quality isn't the greatest- but it isn't intolerable either. It's a soft chair and it doesn't feel rough against your skin. Regarding stains- we just wash off anything that falls on it immediately- it's baby gear...it'll get wear n' tear. Still, ours looks new despite one or two bouts with warm water, soap, and a wash brush. <
>* Rocking mechanism is okay. Occasionally ours makes a little creaking noise- depending on which direction we're rocking, but it's actually kind of soothing and doesn't bug baby. <
>* I didn't notice the difference between the ottoman and chair heights and use the ottoman a lot- great for propping up legs while begging baby to go back to sleep during those 4AM early risings...I also use the ottoman as a little table- I leave my boppy and burp cloth on it, so they're always there when we go for a feeding. <
>* I am tall and the chair seems to be kinda lower to the ground. Getting up while holding a baby takes a little concentrated effort. Something that helped enormously was propping a pillow over the back cushion- you don't sink so low and still remain comfortable. <
>All in all, I am satisfied with the chair and ottoman- we spend a lot of time there napping, feeding, and just relaxing, and so far the chair has done its job pretty unobtrusively.

Fabulous Rocker!
I Absolutely LOVE this rocker. It is so soft and comfortable. The back cushion is wonderful. I can't say enough about it. I have rocked and nursed my daughter in this rocker more times than I can count during the last 8 months. I am thankful to have had such a warm, nurturing place to spend time with her. I did buy a slipcover as none of the color choices worked for our nursery. It was a great idea and is easy to throw in the wash if necessary. I never use the ottoman that we bought...you will love this rocker. Worth every penny.
