Customer Reviews of Ultimate Avengers: The Movie
WOW that was very good well i`ve never actually seen or took the time to read any and every issue of the ultimates or ultimate avengers for that matter but i have seen the movie and i am impressed with it being that i am a fan of marvel`s comic book characters and the comic books adaptation to the big screen and i must disagree with most you peoples because some of you are looking at this movie negatively and well those you who dont like movies like this are probably either immature or not mature because this movie is very very good
Feh.
For all the hype, I could have seen a much better movie.

>Much better suited to Saturday Mornings than a treasured space on my DVD shelf.

>It was too different from the Ultimates to be a good adaptation of that, and too different from the Avengers to be a good representation of that.

>The included documentary was good, with a great extended interview with Avengers artist extraordinaire George Perez. But I was struck by how much fun I remembered Perez' books being. Remember when comics were fun (and funny?) Something lacking in The Ultimates, the current Avengers books and this DVD.

Good Stuff (includes mild SPIOLER)
An Avengers animated movie like this is long over do. For the first time, we see the characters of Captain America, Iron Man, The Wasp, Giant Man, The Hulk, Thor, and The Black Widow treated with the respect they deserve. The animation is professional but old fashioned by today's standards so if you're an animation freak you may want to avoid. By using the Ultimate series as a base, Marvel Comics have found a way to bring the Avengers story into a more modern setting. There are quite a few dialogue scenes which, while not boring, may not interest very young children. However, my 7 year old is just getting old enough now to appreciate dialogue and the sarcastic jokes exchanged between the characters so he thoroughly enjoyed it. There are a few problems with the series. Thor is in only two scenes and has almost no character development. It also suffers from the repetitive plot trap that any story involving a monster like version of the Hulk has; eventually the characters have to all stop focusing on the villains in order to stop the rampaging Hulk. This DVD is only the beginning, summer will bring us Ultimate Avengers 2, followed by an Iron Man film in October, and next year they will release a Dr. Strange Movie. That should be useful information to any fan of the genre.
