Customer Reviews of Twister:Fury on the Plains
Best tornado video out there. While other videos show the twister, show damage, and interview victims, this video just shows the tornados (forming and on the ground). I love the soundtrack, the squealling, siren, heavy metal guitar adds to the chaos presented in the show. Shows amature and pro chaser videos, and historical footage (including the first tornado video, which is spectacular, even with the poor video quiality). If you like tornados, (and still have a VHS), it's worth a look.
Good, authentic footage
I've had this movie since right after it came out, and I've probably watched it at least 30 times since. I have yet to see a tornado film that beats this, in terms of "live-action" footage. And to go along with that, as another reviewer mentioned, the film is also very informative, explaining how tornados form, etc. It runs just under an hour, but there is plenty of footage in that amount of time, with many different tornados, even "silent" historical footage shot in the '50s. A steal at this price.
A "must-have"; best tornado footage compilation yet!
My friends and I liked this video so much that I am ordering a copy to replace one I lost last year: a must-have for all tornado buffs. You learn about the guts of a tornado and the clouds that spawn them. Witness the sheer power and grace of tornados, the eerieness of dust devils, the awe of watching a multiple twister storm from the cameras of people from a quarter mile away to riding out being in the damage path itself. I never tire of watching this tape!
