Customer Reviews of Turok: Evolution
Turok rocks! OK, I am a game bigot. I only play First Person Shooters. So, my Xbox pickings have been a little slim. I pre-ordered this game in May and have been counting the days until it arrived. It showed up on Friday, and I played it for about 2 hours over the weekend. I can only say that I was not disappointed. The graphics are as amazing as they should be for an Xbox game, and the controls are very fluid. The story line (like I need one) is not very engaging, but it also doesn't get in the way. I like the addition of flight in this rendition of Turok. The flight controls are easy to master and the weapons are sweet. Imagine dogfights 100 million years ago! Cool!
The enemies that I have met so far (I've only made it through chapter 3) have demonstrated intelligence. It's weird to watch a computer controlled Sleg dive for cover and only expose enough of his body to try and get a shot at me. They're smart. The AI is great.
I highly recommned this game, if you like FPS and a visually interesting challenge. 5 Stars!
Why can't they just make another one like the first one???
In a word... frustration.
I love Turok... The FIRST one that is, for the Nintendo 64.
It was simple, fun, unique gameplay.
This game is full of glitches in graphics, low-res 3d character models and levels with no save points.
I am a decent gamer. After I played one level for about an hour, I died. Then I had to re-do that entire level... from the beginning... again... which meant another hour of gameplay only to die again. -That's when i just about broke the disc in half.
What were they thinking having difficult, LONG levels with no save points. Even the Nintendo version had save points in the levels (remember those big stone things you could walk up to and save your game at??... yeah, not that hard to think of).
Yeah, the environments are kinda neet, but when that gets old, so does the game.
Come on guys, I encourage you to make another GOOD TUROK! Start with a simple design and go from there. But then again, I didn't even like Turok 2.
If you're a big Turok fan, buy the game. If you're kinda a Turok fan, rent it. If you're neither... don't bother.
Underated
This is a pretty good game that somehow was overlooked by gamers. I have the PS2 version and think that the graphics are some of the best that sony has to offer. Good controls and intense fighting make this a great bargain for fans of first person shooters. For $10 you cant go wrong.
