Customer Reviews of Tupperware Forget Me Not Containers, Set of 2
Great idea, limited usage This is a great idea, but it's design has limited usage.
The idea of storing an onion here, is about it's best use, but the flat "hook" means it doesn't hang very well off my shelves. It needs to be curved/notched, or tapering into a full hook to hang between the shelf wires.
An awesome invention would be to insert a magnet onto the botton, to stick onto shelves in the unused top space under the wire racks.
Because of it's design it sits in the crisper, where I promptly forget about the "forget me not" holder.
how about "squash me not"?
Being a good californian, I didn't get these for onions and tomatoes, I got them for hot peppers and kumquats. They work really well for small produce that would otherwise fall to the bottom of the crisper - the current handful of serrano peppers has been in there for almost two months, getting used one at a time, and is almost as fresh as the day it was bought at the farmer's market.
The containers are bigger than I expected (about a "C" cup), and do stick out a bit, which takes up headspace on the shelf below where they are hung. The lids also don't seal as perfectly as most tupperware, since the hinge doesn't fold flat (not a dealbreaker, but I wouldn't use these for liquids). I had no problem getting the hooks to work with my tempered glass Whirlpool shelves.
If you have a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer I would suggest hanging these on the side *away* from the freezer - the freezer-side fridge wall is colder than the air in the fridge, which will cause condensation on the flat side of the forget-me-not, which eventually will cause mold (probably ok for keeping a grapefruit overnight, but a problem after keeping peppers for a month or so).
Overall, these are well worth the money. I'm glad I bought them.
"Forget me Nots"
With the forget me nots they are an item that you diffently can't not have. You will never loose that onion ever again.
