Customer Reviews of Triumph 5 Comfort Touch Convertible Car Seat with LATCH: Variation
Rates Excellent in Consumer Reports in Crash Tests I am registered with counsmer reports and this car seat rated excellent in crash test for safety which is the most important feature to me. My husband and I bought 2, one for his car and one for mine. When we were at Babies r Us an employee was pushing the Britax to a couple having twins, they would have paid $400 plus for 2 carseats that didn't score as high in safety as this one and they could buy 2 for the price of one Britax!!! I feel like the reason for a car seat is for safety, who cares about cute changeable covers, just buy a Piddle Pad also available at Babies r Us for less than $10 to put under your babies bottom in case of a leak. I hope this review helps remember SAFETY is most important.
Not our first choice
I can't say this was my favorite carseat, it's actually my least favorite so far.... but I suppose it could have been worse. It was given to us as a gift when our daughter outgrew her pumpkin seat (also Evenflo, and we loved it!). I really liked it at first, seemed easy to use, LATCH was flawless and reclines were good while rear-facing. When we turned her around at 1 year, her head was constantly flopping forward, regardless of recline position. Also, the first time I tried to take the cover and straps off to launder, it was a mess. I still never figured out how to get the straps off.

>Also, the straps seem uneven on her shoulders. When one is snug, the other is either too tight or too loose. We opted to replace the carseat with the Evenflo Tribute with the overhead shield, and REALLY love it!
Great car seat! LOVE THE KNOBS!
This car seat is wonderful! I am an amazon nut and am always on here reading reviews before I buy ANYTHING. I was looking at booster seats on here, just for future reference, and thought I would read about my son's carseat, the Evenflo Triumph convertible (yeah, I must be bored). I am surpised to see all the posts about the straps being difficult to adjust with the knobs. I think people having trouble with them just need to get the hang of it. It is a learned-thing. :) I found that the knobs turn MUCH easier if you turn them back first and then foward to loosen (took me a little while to figure that out lol). You need to turn both knobs at the same time, but then only pull one strap at a time. Tightening gives you zero problems, so no issues there. My son is huge for his age, he outgrew his Eddie Bauer infant car seat carrier at 3 months and that is when we purchased this evenflo triumph. At 18 months he was 35 3/4 inches and 32 lbs. He fits great in this carseat still, and will fit great I am sure until he hits the weight and/or height limit and then we will get a booster. My one and only complaint about this seat (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5)...the styrafoam (sp?) underneath the cover on sides down by his legs. He does not pick at the styrafoam like some other people have said here, but this has always been a concern of mine. I just think Evenflo could have made that less accessible (the cover has tabs that hook into the sides of the carseat, but if the child pulls on the cover they will expose some of this styrafoam.) I will say it is a sturdy styrafoam at least, not like a cup or plate that is styrafoam. Boy, I hope I am spelling that right. ;) Hopefully he won't start picking at it, so far he has not. That is my only complaint. He sleeps great in it, he looks very comfortable, it is roomy for him, it is a good-looking seat, he's happy, and we are happy! We LOVE the knobs! I would not want a carseat without them. I cannot imagine what people used to do before, I guess always keep their straps loose. Definately reccomend this seat!
