Customer Reviews of Tripping the Rift - The Complete First Season
This DVD is for fans only. I like animation, I like science fiction, and I like to laugh. I don't like Tripping the Rift. <
> <
>It's not very funny, original, or well written. You may see some "unique" plots (the first episode gave me a bit of hope) but you've seen almost all of these jokes before, and they were much funnier the first time. Imagine a lame children's show, altered at the last minute to include bad language and cleavage. <
> <
>Speaking of cleavage, don't let the "adult oriented" label fool you. It's relatively tame. This show is on the SciFi network, not HBO. The same applies to "edgy" storylines - the only thing that's funny is how weak and watered-down they are. <
> <
>The animation is competent, at best. Everything is minimal, simplified, and looks like plastic. Ships, backgrounds, etc. are designed in the most lazy and unoriginal way possible. <
> <
>This DVD is for FANS ONLY. If you already like the show, enjoy. If it's new to you, rent it first. Please.
A must buy for the sick of mind and humor. (like me)
I was a fan of TtR when its first episode aired on Sci-Fi's Exposure. When it became a series I eagerly watched. When it became a DVD set I quickly bought season 1 and pre-bought season 2 (on it's way, yea!).

>I'm not sure what the Spotlight reviewer (Mitch Obrecht) or the customer reviewer (B.Castro) are commenting on, but MY copy (TtR:The Complete 1st Season 2004) appears to me to be uncensored in any way. I heard many words that I did not hear on Sci-Fi, nor have I seen any blurring. One would think a "Spotlight Reviewer" would have this straight. M.O. & B.C. do give it 5 stars though so they've got a pass in my book.

>The only reason I give it only 4 stars (I wish I could add a 1/2 star) is because it does not contain the original pilot from Sci-Fi's Exposure series. Mr. O is correct that there is not much in the way of DVD extras. The Character Gallery is entertaining and the Art gallery is interesting but not so entertaining after the 1st snap showcasing Chode's butt.
Really funny show
This isn't my normal genre of entertainment, but it is pretty funny stuff. I wouldn't watch this with children around as the humor is definitely adult oriented.
