Customer Reviews of Transformers:More Than Meets the Eye
This movie and what it represents defines my childhood. For starters, who didn't cry when Optimus Prime died? It's okay, you can admit it now. Growing up in the 80's the Transformers were a mainstay in my healthy diet of after-school cartoons. From the commanding voice of Optimus Prime to the piercing screech of Star Scream, every character of the animated series reminds me of my childhood. Transformers, G.I. Joe and He-Man defined our "eighties" generation; back to the days when cartoons weren't overrun with Power Ranger/Kung Fu dubbed over/ Voltron wannabe/ Bull crap. In the 80's it was cool to "go outside" to play after you watched a little TV. This movie was a fantastic summation of the old series and tranformation into the new wave of transformers. All the old favorites were there and some new favorites were introduced. I just feel good every time I see it (which hasn't been for years now) and look foreward to purchasing it in the future so I can pop it in anytime and re-live my childhood.
Megatron's Powers Shown to their full potential
When a gun is is the hand of a machine that is capable of changing from man to machine looks you in the eye then my friend you know what fear is!!!! I have made the point of watching this movie at least 3 times a week for the last 11 years and it still seems like the first time. I have also formed weekly discusion groups on the web to see when they are going to start reissuing this cult classic. Step up and take power. Contact your local Congressman and tell him what you want to see back on the big screen. TRANSFORMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Transformers, He-man, GI Joe: Meat and potatoes of classics
An avid movie buff at 19, I, for one, value the movies that I grew up with. When I was a kid, all that mattered to me me were He-man and GI Joe. While I didn't watch the Transformers series, DAG-GONNE IT, I LOVED THE MOVIE!!!!! These three shows were all we could think about as kids, and now while we are old enough to know of the evils of the world, we can think of these as good, wholesome, classic fun-times that brought no harm to ourselves or to anyone around us. I have friends who share my feelings and some who think my taste in entertainment is cheesy; fine. But I'll have words with anyone who tries to tell me that the classics that I know they used to love are now bad.
