Customer Reviews of Trailer Life
Ho-hum I have to agree mostly with the reader from Greeley. Trailer Life is a fine magazine if you like reading about the latest big RVs and trucks.
But the destination articles are dull, the departments are oriented to guys who like talking about GVWR and transmissions, and the ads are unbelievable!
It's hard to find the content among all the ads. If the reviewers below took a pair of scissors to their last issue and cut out all the ads, they'd find themselves holding a total of maybe 20 pages out of the 100+ in each issue. You get what you pay for ... in this case, mostly ads.
Worth the Time to Check Out This Magazine
Having been an RVer since childhood, I find Trailer Life extremely helpful. My husband and I are carrying on the tradition that my family started when I was young - we own an RV and have traveled over 4,000 miles in one trip with a trailer. I don't find the advertisements annoying - as with any magazine, they are needed to help finance the magazine. If you are a REAL RVer, you will find the information in the advertisements helpful. As far as the feature story highlighting the tow vehicle more than the towed vehicle, this is simply not always true. Also, the feature stories from month to month show trailers of all sizes and all price ranges. One month may highlight an expensive motor home; however, the next month may highlight a much less expensive pop-up trailer. There may not be but one trailer or tow vehicle of interest highlighted each year, but it is always interesting to read about all that's out there. I must disagree with the Greeley, CO reader again -this is not a Keep-Up-With-the-Jones' magazine. Trailer Life exists to keep readers informed, not ahead of everyone else!
Wonderful magazine
I've been reading Trailer Life for three years and can't wait to get each new issue. I really enjoy the articles about places to visit, and the articles about new equipment, new tow vehicles and new travel trailers. I also enjoy reading the advertisements to gain new information and check out new gear and techniques. The upfront letters to the editor section is always very entertaining, and I like the section on dealing with repair problems. Lots of good information in this magazine for all categories of RV travelers. The other review of this magazine by a disgruntled reader in Colorado is indeed unfortunate. I dismissed it as someone with an axe to grind. For my money this is the best magazine for travel trailering available. Andy in Virginia.
