Customer Reviews of Tori Amos - Video Collection: Fade to Red
Audio is a problem Beig a Tori fan, I hate to review this so poorly but the job done on the audio encoding is terrible. Since I just moved, I don't have my surround sound system set up yet but still wanted to just check out the DVD through my normal 2-channel T.V. speakers. Disc One works okay when setting the audio to PCM. However, the bonus videos on Disc 1 and all audio content on Disc 2 won't work with either the DTS or PCM. I guess I have to put off viewing Disc 2 until my home theatre (which does support DTS) is set up. If you are using a fairly basic audio system, you may be out of luck. The two missing videos is a bit of a bummer too.
very good and very well done!
I have seen all of Tori Amos videos and owned the other video collection but now that this is on dvd with the added videos and the wonderful commentary that add's to every video on here this is every Toriphiles dream. I just keep playing the videos with the commentary on them over and over again. Sleeps with Butterflies, 1000 oceans and Sweet the Sting are videos I never got to see very much and they are stunning. but really the best thing for me is the commentary.
Needed a little more...
Since the bonus videos (and making of documentary) were accessible on both discs, it didn't make since not to replace them on one of the discs with Strange Little Girl, Glory of the 80's and Mary (especially since the "Professional Widow" remix video was kept on). Obviously, I wasn't expecting The Big Picture (from Y Kant Tori Read) to be on there due to Tori's feelings towards that album, but the others should have been on there. I have the video collection on VHS, and since it still lacks videos (and is thus little more than a repeat, minus a few videos and the commentary), I had to give it only 3 stars.
