Customer Reviews of Tintorera:Tiger Shark 25th Anniverary
Tintorera, please come to DVD! God how I love this movie! Yes, it IS a Mexican-made Jaws ripoff crossed with soft porn and that's exactly what makes it an all-time undiscovered kitsch hall-of-famer. Imagine a romantic one-nighter on a boat between a Mexican lethario and one of Charlie's Angels, heavy on the sex. The next morning she wakes up and SWIMS HOME only to have her leg bitten off by a tiger shark. Now that's entertainment! Hilarious, scary, full of great underwater photography and T&A, and so groovy in that lava lamp, polyester '70s kinda way that you can't help but love it. And you will! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COME OUT ON DVD TINTORERA TIGER SHARK. We love YOU!
A great underwater researcher.
First, this is based on a novel by Ramon Bravo, mexico's greatest underwater researcher. and hence can't be a Jaws spinoff. the movie does include a lot of Bravo's underwater filming, but the effects are very good, and it does a good work of translating the novel to movie.
PornoJaws!
How can you improve on the "Jaws" franchise? Definitely not by mixing it with soft porn. But, that is what they attempted with Tintorera. In fact, it is more porn than shark flick. A Ménage-à-trois relationship is the story focus over the mean ole shark threat. It's more fun to be attacked by a Tiger Shark than to watch this cinematic seizure. I can't go to far into the film quality. I mean, if you are looking at this, you know what you are getting.
BEWARE! This film has had many different VHS releases but it seems they are recoded in an extended play format, sometimes known as EP. There is also a version of TINTORERA that is labeled EP only referring to the length of the film, not the recording process. I believe they are all recorded extended play.
