Short and stout with rounded sides and a contrasting silver-and-black body, the T600W looks a little intimidating. It has far more buttons than most clock radios, which we suspect may puzzle first-time users. Fortunately, many of these controls are used for setup, while the most frequently used buttons are set apart and logically situated.
The Indiglo (blue) display shows time, date, radio frequency, CD track, and indicates which nature sound (ocean, brook, forest, or wind) is currently selected for the alarm. Setting the six AM and 12 FM presets is very straightforward, and when powered up the T600W's last-station memory automatically returns to the station selected before the radio was switched off.
The sound of the T600W is quite good, but the close proximity of the two speakers yields little stereo separation. And though it does deliver a full, clean sound, don't mistake this clock radio for a mini-stereo system. Turn it up too loud, and the cabinet will start to buzz in protest. If you want to listen at higher levels, we'd suggest using the mini-headphone jack or investing in a more music-oriented clock radio or shelf stereo.
All in all, the Timex T600W is a good value: it's small, sounds good, and is chock full of features. --Wayne Garcia

Customer Reviews of Timex T600W CD Stereo Clock Radio with Nature Sounds (White)
Timex nature sounds alarm clock is cool! I love this clock. The stereo quality is really good. I wanted something soothing for my 7 month old to fall asleep to. The "wind" nature sound is the perfect white noise. I leave it on all the time. I also play his lullaby CD and the it sounds great! I used to use the CD player that attaches to the crib, (it sells in the baby stores)but the sound quality was very poor. I couldn't believe I was listening to the same CD the first time I played it in the Timex! The indiglo face sets off a cool blue light and the time is nice and big and easy to read. I would definitely recommend it.
..........Just Don't Hit The Snooze Button..........
I received this CD/Radio/Nature Sound Clock Radio for Christmas. It has good points and bad points. I'll begin with the good:
-Large Idiglo display
-Good sound quality (for a clock radio)
-Plenty of radio presets
-Aesthetically pleasing
That's about it though. Unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. Bad points include:
-Hissing sound emitted by the CD mechanism
-Snooze button is WAY too close to the OFF button
-Alarm has a time limit
-Nature sounds are unrealistic
-Doesn't keep time (?????)
Let me elaborate on a few of the bad points:
I like to ease into the day which means that I hit snooze a few times before getting up. The snooze button on this unit is less than 1/2 inch from the OFF button. HELLO!!!!! I'm groggy when I hit that button!!! The snooze button and OFF button should be no where near each other!! Maybe it's just me, but that's kind of like a car manufacturer designing a vehicle with the cigarette lighter right next to the gas filler neck.
The unit I got doesn't keep time. It gains approximately 3 minutes per month. I spoke with Timex Tech Support about this and they said I would have to send it in to be repaired. I'm sorry, but this is an $... clock radio, made by Timex no less. It should be about as acurate as the atomic clock at NORAD.
Lastly, the alarm is timed. This doesn't present a problem, normally. But if you're not feeling well, or just having a hard time getting up, you'd best beware. After 6 hits of the snooze you're done. You'll be waking up at noon wondering what happened. Why on earth would they limit the alarm?
The long and short of it is this......if you are shopping for a nice looking, compact, CD player/Radio this works great. However, if that's all you're looking for you probably don't want to spend $.... I'm stuck with mine as it was a gift. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.
too many flaws
I have owned this alarm clock for a couple of years now, and I regret to say, I am at long last in the market for something better. From day one, the clock would gain time, a couple of minutes per month. The cd player (which whined noisily when it started up) also stopped working long ago, and unfortunately, the cd player was the main selling point for me when I purchased this clock. The radio reception leaves a lot to be desired, depending on where I stand in the bedroom. My final complaint is that some (not all) of the functions are way too complicated to program without the manual, which disappeared a long time ago.
Why 2 stars then? The one reason I have kept the clock far beyond its prime is that I love the nature sounds feature. I find now that I have difficulty falling asleep without the serene forest breeze whispering in my ears - I am a "soothing nature sounds" junkee. On another positive note, the alarm has been very dependable, aside from user error.
