SCHUUR THING!!!!!!! WHEN THIS CAME OUT AS AN ALBUM IN THE 80'S, I MUST HAVE WORN OUT SEVERAL COPIES! THIS IS A REAL SINGER WHO IS AT HER PEAK VOCALLY AND IS ALSO DEEPLY SOULFUL-ADD THIS TOGETHER AND YOU HAVE SUCH A SATISFYING WORK THAT IS FULL OF CLASSICS. FROM THE JAZZY FEEL OF "HOW LONG" & "EASY TO LOVE" TO THE LUSH ROMANTIC PASSION OF "A TIME FOR LOVE" & "DON'T LIKE GOODBYES" TO THE BURNING BLUESY "PLEASE SEND SOMEBODY TO LOVE" THIS IS A SET FULL OF VARIETY AND PASSIONATE PERFORMANCES THAT YOU WILL ONLY GROW TO LOVE MORE WITH REPEATED LISTENINGS!!DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!
Brilliant
Pure pleasure! This album is beautifully orchestrated. Diane is one of the best living vocal jazz artists today. Her vocal range is phenominal. Her soul is deep and satisfying. A must-have CD for anyone seriously into this artist.
Synths meet Strings
This album, recorded and released in 1986 along with the cd issue, not 1990 as this site reads, is an excellent meeting of warm vocals and electric arrangements utilizing strings. "Easy To Love" is straight on Big Band. The cover art of this cd is an indication of the dated material contained within, but it's not bad. "Come Rain Or Come Shine" and "How Long Has This Been Going On" are prime examples of the Thirties meets the Eighties. Diane's work with GRP, albeit excellent vocally, is permeated with synths, and electric will stay with her until 1992's "Tribute" album. You can guess without looking at the release date this album was recorded in the eighties due to the instrumentation, but even with it's marked time factor, this is a great album.
