Twice condemned as galley slaves, the Stooges see that Schuyler now has the muscles but not the self-confidence to rescue Diana and the rest of Greece from the odious Odius. Schuyler is tricked into thinking himself all-powerful and performs many Herculean labors (with many a stuffed animal and some decent backscreen projection).
Although Curly Joe seems a few notches above his namesake in the brains department (which is not saying all that much), his reactions at times of real and supposed danger are quite ordinary compared with the old Curly. In fact, it is Moe who takes on the Curly bark at a recalcitrant prop. But the old sound effects are there to punctuate blows to belly and head, although eye pokes are out, due to parental objections to the influence of the trio, newly popular on television. --Frank Behrens

Customer Reviews of Three Stooges Meet Hercules
Simply put........the best of their feature films! The best! <
>Watch it and see for yourself! <
>It's like almost watching the stooges from their glory days!!
Great for all ages
This film was made at the height of the Stooges popularity in the late 50s and early 60s. It grossed about two million dollars at the box office, exceeding expectations, and landed the Stooges a three-picture deal. Those three would turn out to be Three Stooges in Orbit, Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze, and Outlaws is Coming. Two million gross at the box office is pathetic these days, but it was substantial 43 years ago.

>People already know the premise of this film. It's repeated several times on this page. But this is the type of film anyone with an appreciation of comedy would like. Be it a five year old or a 75 year old. It's just a fun, quick-paced, and clean film. I'm a Stooges fan, and this is one of my favorite things they ever did, including their short films.

>This flick is the best place for anyone to start in the DeRita era, which tends to be frowned upon by many Stooge fans, but I liked DeRita. He was a good actor.

>5 stars for the movie, but until proven otherwise, the actual DVD will get a 1 or a 2. These pictures were filmed in the 1:66 to 1 aspect ratio, but Columbia has typically released with in 1:85 to 1. This crops the picture somewhat, but the average fan won't notice. I don't even think it's all that noticible, you you wish they release it how it was filmed to be released.
Best of the Stooges' 1960s Features
Top-notch latter Stooge epic, and kudos (big time) to Columbia for eschewing the hideous colorization process this time around. Hopefully, those knuckleheads learned their lesson from the less-than-tepid response to the previous colorized releases.
