Customer Reviews of The Wiggles - Wiggles Space Dancing (An Animated Adventure)
My 18 month old son loves this DVD I know this might not suit adults to sit through the Wiggles again and again but my 18 month old son loves this DVD and dances, laughs and generally has a blast. He especially likes King Mondo (Ross Wilson) and the Wiggles doing the Eagle Rock. I can't get "What's This Button For" out of my head. Why the little aliens at the beginning like cows so much is a mystery...but I like the songs, they are refreshing after the daily grind of the Disney program - and I think the animation is cute. If you get the DVD watch the King Mondo part - I'd no idea this song "Eagle Rock" was a big hit in like the 70's in Australia.
Strange, Very Strange
Well, as they promised, this is a totally different Wiggles production. The Wiggles, Dorothy, Wags and Captain Feathersword find themselves inside one of Jeff's dreams, and now they're bobble-headed animated figures on a space adventure.
After accidentally hijacking a visiting space ship, they land up on a rock 'n roll planet, then a planet of tiny people, followed by a trip to a gloomy planet, and then back to earth.
There are less songs than in the other productions, but some of them are quite good. I thought "Eagle Rock" was a bit dated for the intended audience, and a few of the songs were monotonous. The dance moves weren't very innovative either.
The animation will take some getting used to, and Greg's eyebrows are big enough to hide a space ship in. Something's not quite right about Dorothy and the Captain either.
The Teeny Weenie people had lousy Irish accents, and no visible eyes - very strange. The animation on this planet wasn't as good as in the rest of the movie.
The ending of the animated part is also strange, with the visiting aliens taking some unusual guests back with them in the space ship.
I gave it bonus points for originality, and the animation is very good for the majority of the movie. It's a refreshing change after the last few Wiggles productions. The extra features also chip in for a few points, especially the "Making of.." segment and the game.
Kids should like it immensely.
We come as friends, you have beautiful eyes...
For holding kids' attention, the Wiggles are worth their collective weight in fruit salad. This is almost like "Star Trek" crossed with the Wiggles (at least red-shirted Murray doesn't have to worry). Throw in Mr. Scott playing bagpipes, Spock playing the lyre and Kirk singing "Mr. Tambourine Man"...well, maybe not. The Wiggles' own "Star Trek" is good fun.
