Customer Reviews of The Wiggles - Wiggle Time
Addictive We also bought this video because of a trailer on a Barney tape (with the quack quack song). We never realized what we were in for! Our daughter, almost 2 years old (22 months), LOVES this tape. She can't get enough of the Wiggles She already knows all their names, who wears what color shirt, all the songs and words, and most of the dance steps. She really likes the pirate for some reason -- she hasn't stopped talking about the pirate (and Jeff, the one who sleeps alot) for many weeks now.
The bottom line on this tape is: every Wiggles song on the tape is catchy and fun, most toddlers will love it. And it is fun to do the dances with the kids, so it does sort of act as a good workout tape. Those guys sure get a workout doing all those steps! Buy the tape, your kids will love it and you'll be supporting safe, fun TV. I'd be shocked if any parent didn't like this tape -- or if any kid didn't have fun watching it!
Wiggly Workout Tape--For Kids and Adults!
Out entire household is addicted to the Wiggles! Our...daughter...is normally a comfy couch potato who likes to lounge on her bottom with her blankie and thumb to the likes of Elmo, Teletubbies, etc. The Wiggles are a different story--this is truly interactive TV!
She adores their music (kids always seem to love anything that's a little bit rock n' roll!), but it's not enough to just sit there and watch it--she MAKES us get up and dance! If you're not standing, she's in front of you, tugging on your clothes until you join in. Other kids shows say "Hey kids, let's get up and move!" with very little effect on my daughter (who enjoys watching them, but isn't moved to stand up and imitate them most of the time). I can't really describe what it is about these four guys and their silly songs that makes it so addictive, but as my husband said, it's hard to say no to them! Subliminal messages? Maybe!
I HIGHLY recommend the Wiggles in this video (or any of the others) to parents like me who may want to get into shape, but don't have time for the gym or money for a lot of exercise equipment. What we have here is almost an aerobics class, which everyone can enjoy. Forget "Sweatin' to the Oldies"! Try some of the simple Wiggle movements! The jumps, hand claps, "hot potato" movement, etc. may look simple, but try doing what Murray, Greg, Jeff, and Anthony do for ONE minute and you'll see--it really takes your breath away! I became convinced after imitating them for a few minutes that these guys are in terrific shape. I also became determined that if they can do it, I can do it--so our family (well, at least my oldest daughter and I) works out with the Wiggles two or three times a day! P>Warning: If you're addicted to the Wiggles--a true Wigglemaniac, you may start wondering why EVERYONE isn't wearing a Wiggles Star-Trek-esque outfit and going around with "Fruit Salad, Yummy, Yummy" in their heads.
Best Wiggles Video by far!
My nearly 3 year old son is a HUGE wiggles fan. He's also got a learning delay, and rarely talks. One of his first words was "wiggles" and to this day he speaks that word often (his delay means he often learns a word then "loses" it).
He knows the moves to the dances, especially 'Hot Potato' and 'Captain Feathersword'. If moms and dads get up and dance with the children, it makes for a good workout. We call it "Wigglecizing". ;)
What is even better, is that after they grow on you, you can stand to watch the videos over and over again, something I've been unable to do even with Disney movies (but especially with Barney!).
Sure, they're a bunch of dancing adult men looking a bit silly, but who cares?
