Customer Reviews of The Wash
Entertaining - Dre And Snoop Make A Comical Pair. With a script that didn't need any following and a plot that doesn't kick in until 20 minutes before the end, 'The Wash' is certainly no Oscar winner for acting or screenplay, but is a playful comedy about two friends, Dre's 'Sean' and Snoop's 'Dee Loc' trying to get by and pay the rent - but having fun along the way as well and, thinking about it, working what seems to be a very easy job at a garage.
Dre is better suited to the straight man role whereas Snoop's pot dealing is laid out perfectly for him, 'The Wash' is simply a film that is basically a showcase of rappers fooling around and getting the chance to appear in a film - with cameos from Xzibit, Shaq O'Neill, Truth Hurts and an un-credited Eminem - who surprisingly has the funniest part in the film, although it could have had a bit more meaning rather then just the actor/rappers being the main attraction (hint hint: Friday). The movie also features an appearance by writer/producer DJ Pooh as a rather stupid (literally) kidnapper.
Pointless, but a feel good movie. One to watch if you have time to kill and feel like listening to very stereotyped black language.
Hilarious Must See!
The Wash starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, George Wallace, D.J. Pooh, Bruce Bruce (Comic View), Ludacris, Eminem and a special appearance by Shaq will have you laughing and hanging on to the edge of your seat. I bypassed this movie when it hit theaters because the previews deceived me. However, I am thrilled that I did view it once it went to video.
Sean (Dr. Dre) and Dee Loc (Snoop Dogg) are two roommates that are late paying their rent. The landlord cuts the water off for non-payment of rent at a very critically funny moment. Dee Loc encourages Sean to get a job at the local Car Wash with him. The Wash has some colorful employees, funny antics happening all day, shady type customers and a boss named Mr. Washington (George Wallace) that come together to make a comedy worth seeing. It reminds me of the 1970s flick entitled CarWash.
The movie really hooks the viewer once Mr. Washington hires Sean as Dee Loc's supervisor instead of as his peer/co-worker. The tension flares up and the comedy really erupts. Once it appears that the friendship is ruined, their boss is kidnapped by what appears to be the mob or gangsters. The two roommates come together to try and rescue their boss. The rescue attempt will have the viewer in stitches and likely telling friends about the comedy for days to come.
