Customer Reviews of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre [Region 2]
VVVVVVVVVVeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhh! This was a good remake of a classic sicko flick...See it if you are a horror buff!
The standard in horror re-makes!
I am partial when it comes to re-making a movie, especially if it is a re-make of an already known classic. When I first seen this movie I was very skeptical, after the first 15 minutes I was blown away.

>With a few added parts that tell more of the story the originality is tuned up and it takes you on one hell of a rollercoaster ride. In my opinion this movie sets the standard on horror movie remakes. It goes more into detail of the story but they keep it original.
Gave me chills!!
When this movie first came out, I remember going to the theatre to watch it. It was sometime around Halloween and because I'm a huge fan of the holiday, I thought watching this would be fun. I love scary movies. Nothing really scares me anymore because most scary movies have the same storyline so what's to be scared about? However, this movie had me covering my eyes during some parts and it gave me chills.

>So what's this movie about? If you've seen the original, it's basically the same thing. If you haven't, here's a brief rundown. A group of kids are on a roadtrip when they spot a girl on the side of the road. When they pick her up, they discover that something is terribly wrong. Upon looking for help, they come across a host of creepy people including one in particular, a chainsaw-wielding killer.

>What's to like about this movie? First, this movie contains an abundance of famous actors and actresses including Jessica Biel (which is refreshing to watch her go from 7th Heaven to a horror flick), Eric Balfour, and R. Lee Ermey. There's a ton of eye candy in this movie for those who like that sort of thing. Second, the beginning of this film states that it's based on a true story. If you're a crime buff like I am, you'd know that this movie is based extremely loosely on Ed Gein, a serial killer who mutilated women and made various items from their body parts. If you attempt to believe the "based on a true story" part, this movie is even better. To think that there's a lunatic out there that chases people with chainsaws and experiments with their bodies is almost too much to bear. Third, not including the gory scenes, there are a lot of disturbing characters and scenes that will shock you. And lastly, fans of scary movies should enjoy something new based on a classic.

>And what's not to like? Look, in general remakes tend to be not as good as the original. If you like older scary movies, you probably won't like this one. I personally prefer this movie to the original but I understand why some people prefer the original.

>Updated to add: I have the deluxe edition and I think it would make a great gift for anyone who likes this movie. The case opens up to reveal the titles of each scene, two disks, and an "evidence file" which contains pictures of the "crime scene" as well as a description of each picture on the back. If you're thinking of buying this movie, I suggest getting this edition.
