Customer Reviews of The Smothers Brothers Show
Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (SBCH) I haven't seen this show, but I do remember well the Smothers Brothers variety show. To echo and reinforce the above comment, with all of the other television shows of yesteryear being released on DVD when will the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour be released for sale to an appreciative audience. I loved Censored when it ran on television simply for the opportunity to see bits and pieces of this fantastic old show. SBCH is a 5-star DVD, if only the owners would release it.
Bring back the comedy hour! 0 Stars for those who own the rights.
Come on, you powers that be: this show may have been funny at times, but it certainly did not carry the satire, music, or importance of the S.B.'s variety show. Please, those that read this, cast your vote to bring out the Smothers Brothers variety show seasons. If we can get everything from the Beverly Hillbillies to Full House, we should certainly get the Smothers Brothers.
Mom Always Liked You Best
Since this isn't out on DVD, I can only remark about the show. I only saw a few episodes of this show, but it's hilarious, with Tommy as a newly-deceased apprentice angel trying to earn his wings, working for the head angel, Ralph. As with the later Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, Dick Smothers pretty much played straight man for Tom's humor, which frequently involved Tom's boyish antics: "Mom always liked you best!"

>The later comedy hour generated controversy by providing a platform for anti-war sentiments (during the Vietnam conflict). Ironically, earlier the Smothers Brothers had made public service announcements for the National Guard. All of that generated lots of attention and controversy, and this great little-seen show was lost along the way. Now that seldom seen shows are making their way to DVD (and new audiences), I can't wait for this one and the rediscovery of these twin talents.
