Customer Reviews of The Simpsons Road Rage
Woo-Hoo!!! Hi-Diddly-Ho There! Ned Flanders at your ser-viddly-ervice!!!
The Game starts out with the Simpsons watching the news and they find out That Homer's boss, C. Montgomery Burns has bought the bus company and has made the buses radioactive. The citizens of Springfield won't stand for it. They are forced to turn their cars into cabs and boycott the buses, while collecting money to buy back the bus comnpany.
This is one awesome game. If you're a big Simpsons fan, like me, you'll love this game. One strange thing about this game is that its just like Crazy Taxi in every way, except there is a primary objective that must be completed to beat the game, (collect a million dollars to buy back the bus company.) You can play with about eighteen characters and play on six levels. As far as game play goes, it is awesome. Graphics are phenominal and another cool thing is that the characters sound and look just as they do on the show. Here are the characters you can play with (their cars and best asset are also listed)
Homer: Family Sedan (All around)
Marge: Convero (All Turning)
Bart: Soap Box Racer (Acceleration)
Lisa: Electric Car (Acceleration)
Grandpa: Go-Cart (Speed)
Professor Frink: Hover Car (Best overall) (My Favorite!)
Flanders: Station wagon (All Around)
Krusty the Clown: Clown Car (Turning)
Apu: Sports car (Speed)
Homer: Mr. Plow (All Around)
Snake:Lil' Bandit (All Speed)
Chief Wiggum: Cop Car (Turning)
Barney: Plow King (All Power)
Otto: School Bus (Power)
Moe: Sedan (Turning)
Groundskeeper Willie: Tractor (Speed)
Reverend Lovejoy: Book-Burning Mobile (Power)
And Six Real Simpsons Boards:
Evergreen Terrace (Where The Simpsons live)
Entertainment District(Where Moe's Tavern is)
Springfield Dam
Nuclear Power Plant (Where Homer Works)
Downtown
Spring Field Montains
There is only one flaw to this entire game, not all the characters in the Simpsons Show are involved in the game. other than that its perfect. So, what are you waiting for? Get it now!
P.S. Vote Quimby!!!
Not a taxi, but certainly crazy
First things first: Yes, this is similar to Sega/Acclaim's Crazy Taxi. As an owner of both Crazy Taxi and this game on GameCube, I must say I am pleased with both. The reason is that each is innovative in its own way!
The Simpsons Road Rage, also available for XBox and PlayStation2, features the famous characters from the Simpsons TV show. Many games based on popular TV shows, including earlier Simpsons games, have failed due to bad gameplay, but a fun idea, backed with the complete cooperation of Matt Groening and 20th Century Fox, have made this one of the best licensed games I have ever seen.
The story is that Mr. Burns has bought the Springfield Transit Company. Since nobody wants to ride a radioactive bus with superhigh fare, Homer and friends decide to take matters in their own hands.
The driving and destroying is what sets this game and Crazy Taxi apart. In Crazy Taxi, you are a taxi driver attempting to make money for personal gain, so people give you fares. Some things are knocked down, and pedestrians run away before you can hit them. In The Simpsons Road Rage, you are a Simpsons character attempting to make money to buy back public transportation, so you earn money as you go along. Almost everything can be destroyed (sometimes, you are encouraged to either play it safe or break stuff for a big bonus), and people WILL get hit when your car gets too close to them.
The attractions you drive to and things you see have showed up in various Simpsons episodes, from Moe's Bar to the world's largest toilet to the Escalator to Nowhere. The original voice cast of the Simpsons show provides a lot of funny dialogue, adding a delicious icing to the already fattening cake. (Mmm...cake...) Hit someone, and he soars into the air shouting "I regret nothing!" Driver and passenger have funny conversations ("Hey Krusty, what's up with Springfield's most famous clown?" "Plenty-thanks to Viagra!"), and judge whether your ride was bad ("Worst ride ever!") or good ("That ride was over faster than Chevy Chase's talk show!")
Which is better-The Simpsons Road Rage, or Crazy Taxi? I don't really have a preference. Give both a try-I'm sure you'll like at least one of them.
