Customer Reviews of The Sentinel (Widescreen)
Lack of surprise I think this movie could have been much better if peter would end up to be the traiter or something like that. Something like the plot in bourne supremacy. I got really disappointed when some obscure cameo suddenly came out of nowhere to be the mole. After all this movie is about traiter in secret service who you would expect to be a major charater with fair amount of character development. <
>Probably it's because of all the Hollywood audience profiling, overall this movie feels dumbing down and unoriginal. It's like if someone looks cool he is the good guy, if someone looks ugly he is the bad guy. Even cartoons for children are not usually this simple. <

Fast-paced action...
Pete Garrison (Michael Douglas) has given his life to the Secret Service, even taking a bullet for a former president. Now, he's in charge of looking out for the First Lady (Kim Basinger). When an informant passes information to him about a leak in the Secret Service, and a plot to kill the President, Garrison is concerned. Soon, it begins to appear as if Garrison is the traitor. He realizes that no amount of protestations of innocence are going to help him, especially when his former friend, now turned bitter enemy, David Breckinridge (Kiefer Sutherland) becomes involved in the investigation. Garrison must stop the assassination of the President alone. In doing so, he hopes to clear his own name and figure out who's framing him.

>THE SENTINAL is a hit, providing fast-paced action, drama and thrills throughout the movie. Kim Basinger does a fantastic job of portraying the First Lady, and Eva Longoria doesn't disappoint in her role as the "rookie". Michael Douglas gives his usual gripping performance. The plot pretty much keeps it all together during the entire movie, although I would have preferred a bit more mystery about the identity of the "leak". I had it pegged from very early on in the movie.

>All in all, the movie has very strong characters, a great setting, a good plot and a fairly decent ending - a movie I'd definitely recommend to action lovers.
YEAH! I love The Fugitive.....wait.......I mean um......Firewall....WAIT!
Ok, ok. Here we go. 24 is a.......what the heck did I just watch! Oh, The Sentinel. Okay. Sorry it just reminded me of all those movies(which are better bye the way). I was thinking of seeing this in theatres, thank goodness I didn't. Its not really a bad movie, its just seems like its been done so many times before. It was kind've like a special 1 and a half hour episode of 24, with a cool helicopter blowing up added in. I'm just happy that Harrison Ford didn't join up on this project, Firewall was misguided, BUT I enjoyed that more than this, of course Ford is one of my favorite actors so I'm biased a bit.

>The acting was good, like I said before it was a bit like a made for TV movie. It would be great to watch it on the SCI-FI channel or FOX, BUT for a movie that came out in theatres it was bland.

>Overall only rent this if you want to see Michael Douglas or are a huge 24 fan. I, personally would rather watch Jack Bauer for an hour than this, but thats just me.....
