Customer Reviews of The Next Invasion
This video rocks Hey I am a kid who likes skating and this is a cool DVD. It's not like got a bunch of pros and stuff but these kids are funny and they tear up the parks they visit pretty good. Plus I like the part where they smash up Macdonalds and then dump ice all over the hotel rooms. It's kinda like Jackass but with skating.
This Flick Rips!
This is a really really cool video. I bought it for my nephew hoping it would be both "safe" and "authentic" and these guys hit it right on the head! There is no swearing, drugs, or sex refferences so it's cool for kids, plus these groms are really pulling MAJOR tricks. I would have never tried a kickflip rail at 10 years old! Too cool. Any moms or dads out there looking for a good safe skateboarding film for your youngsters THIS IS IT! My nephew loved the film and has watched it 10 times already. Plus the music is really cool too!
outlaws- ohhh yeah
As a guy who takes care of kids part time, I enjoy the boarding these guys do. It is challenging, healthy and a good way to energize. These pint-sized heroes, The GROMS- have intense skill and will fly anywhere. They proved it during thier two week promotional tour of 12 skateboard parks.
Yes, the disk is 50 minutes long and the production values have the hand-held camera feel-but how else should you try to capture a dozen hi-flying boys- oil paints?? The music is loud and awesome- it totally goes with The Groms awesome boarding.
My only reservation is the lack of judgment of chief and major domo, Jamie Prescott who proves to be something of an outlaw himself. He is a twelve-year old with a drivers license who is pulled over by police for speeding. He argues with McDonald's personel when the kids use serving trays in the slide of the resturant's kids play area. "But there's no signs saying kids can't use trays on the slide." and later says, "Well, we don't have common-sense." - Nice example dad!
Those momments are brief and we spend most of our time with The Groms, a delightful group you would feel like you Could invite them for Sunday Tea, - if you were armed with tranc guns. JUST KIDDING! (about the Sunday tea). I can relate to having 12 kids who leave their things, candy wrappers and -*gag*- spitballs in the van.
The Groms are full of caffinated Mountain Dew and Skittles. But that's just the way we like them. The Groms appear to burst from their confinment within the camper with skateboards glued to their feet- they live for the moment when they can fly and we are invited to go along.
There wasn't a kid who wached the disk that didn't want to go with the Groms on their Next Invasion. Go ahead, buy the disk and see for yourself.
