Customer Reviews of The Mummy
'THE MUMMY'.... IS GREAT This game is straight from the movie. It has fairly good graphics, but the people are 'boxy'. It is an all out 'shoot em up' game, but as with the movie nothing bleeds. It has terrifying visual and sound effects and is most enjoyable. You get the greatest feeling of satasfaction with the completion of each level. It is an exellent challenge, but not too difficult to handle. It's a good game for you if you are looking for an action packed, something-around-every-corner type of game. It needs no brain power, you just have to figure out how many shots or slashes everything requires so as not to use up all your ammo (it becomes very valuable so as i prefer swords).
It starts out slowly with scenes from the movie and slowly builds up to more difficult adversaries. It provides a challenge with 6 types of mummies (not including the mummy himself, you don't get to fight him until the end), tomb robbers, anubis, beni, anck-su-namun (pronounced anac-sue-namoon), and finally imhotep.
With three types of guns (dual pistols, a shotgun and a lewis gun a.k.a an old fashioned machine gun), a torch, a machete, dynamite, amulets (throw them and they blow up), the golden sword, and if all else fails, your fists, you are well equipped for just about anything. Overall I would say this is an enjoyable game.
The game is good for the action
My brother received this game for Christmas when he was in 9th grade and I was in 4th grade. My brother played it untill he got up to the third level CAVERNS OF THE NILE then he stopped playing for a while. Then I started playing the game. I enjoyed it basically because it was an action game and that's what I was interested in. The controls were very easy to get used to mostly just going forward, backward and the key that you use to fire your gun or slash your sword. First, the weapons you start out with are a torch and two pistols but gradually you go on and collect a machete, a shotgun, a golden sword etc. The enemys you battle include guys with hats, mummys, enemys with swords and shields and more. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the graphics were not good and there was not much else in the game besides killing people and going through levels.
However, there were some bonus parts where if you collected enough treasures you could do special things such as having unlimited amunition, being invincable and theres a bonus level which is the CAIRO LEVEL.
If you're into the game just for the action I would recommend it to you otherwise you might want to check it out.
Family Fun
Believe me there are NO games that are enjoyable to both myself and my wife. EXCEPT The MUMMY. We have finally completed all levels after countless hours of mutual fun.
Does anyone Know if the new "The Mummy" by ebgames, coming out in April 2004 is a follow on or a completely different outfit.\?
