Customer Reviews of The Last Exile - The Complete Series Boxed Set (Vol 1-7)
Watch what you get!!!! For anyone who is looking at this item just beware the from cheap to expensive is how you make a decision buying this. I bought the 34.99 version thinking I was getting the nice big box set. Wow what a suprise. I got a 3 disc import version and not what is displayed on the picture. I guess if you want the big box set you need to pay the big $146.00 to get it. It was a big disapointment to get what is displayed in the picture when it gets to you and amazon needs to correct this because the ad is very misleading.
Enjoyable, Memorable and Moving
This anime has exceptional character development. Above all else, you get a great feel for each main character and most all of the peripheral characters as you are watching this series, and each of the characters you are introduced to have a solid purpose/role in the series. Moreover, all the characters have different personalities and quirks, so you'll likely single one out early on and identify with that character during the entire series (Lord Dio on my part), which greatly increases the entertainment and reality valued of this series.

>I would categorize this anime as an action drama that has some light-hearted comedy mixed in from time to time. Also, the plot of the series is actually readily graspable, although there certain areas open in the plot that let the viewer interject his/her own theories into the series, to quasi-personalize the viewing experience to a certain degree-like the ending and the role of "the Guild" in the war between the two human fractions in the series.

>Above all else, I would strongly recommend this anime to anyone over the age of 14. While this anime is entertaining and full of vivid colors, characters and has a good deal of air-ship to air-ship combat, persons looking for solely an action anime would do better with something else, as this might be a little bit too serious for them. This is defiantly an anime I am truly happy to have purchased and watched.

I like a movie or series that when you are stuck in traffic suddenly pops to your mind with images, questions...

>The very realistic looking steam technology of the series, the great ambiance product of the music and great art. A very intriguing and compelling story, with characters that are more than a collection of stereotypes. The seamless integration of both 2d and 3d CGI graphics.
